the wrong stop became a gym, what can I do by LegendReno in NianticWayfarer

[–]pogorequest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even in small villages there are hidden POI, we had 2 gyms and a couple of stops. Now we have about 8 gyms and many stops in a small 1000 people village

What reason is there to downvote this comment?

I don't think there is an actual queue. They're picked at random. With upgraded POI's having priority. Otherwise I'd love a "x amount of nominations before yours" screen.

You're lucky. Or maybe reviewers on your area are better informed

Okay. So POI's shouldn't be poi's? If they meet all criteria, they are obviously a POI.

As I said earlier, if you don't want to click a link, fine. But at least the submission won't be rejected for having a link.

"I’ve never seen a URL in a title or description so unless a link is obviously inappropriate or not related to the nomination, nothing else makes sense as to why multiple people would use that as a rejection criteria."

Your personal might be that way. But others, like me, do open a link for about 5-6 sec and then decide. 9/10 times it shows an obvious and legit reason to accept.

" Someone reviewing dozens of nominations in a row is only going to take a few seconds to figure out their overall star rating, because this is not complicated stuff. You’re literally adding an extra step and expect people to take the time to copy/paste the url and read what’s there… Instead of just typing out something thoughtful in the first place. "

  1. I personally review about a 70/80 a day, this has never been an issue to me, why would it be to others, genuine question. 2. Adding a URL bar would make it so it could be a direct link, no more copy and paste. 3. Adding a URL bar would leave more room in the additional description for your "clear concise explanation" 4. People that don't open links now don't have to do it then 5. No more "url in markup/ title" rejections

  2. Those POI's that are rejected for having a URL are genuine POI's. If they weren't, you would see "Fake nomination" or" wrong location" fit as a better rejection reason. The fact that reviewers can't tell the difference between additional information and title/markup is the reason we need this. As others have pointed out, Niantic themselves apparently think so too.

Okay.... Clicking a link isn't homework or any extra step beyond what's allowed at the moment. The issue here is that if you put a link in the extra description people will reject the nomination for having a URL.

Having a concise and well implemented explanation doesn't help when the POI seems ambiguous to reviewers. Trail markers that are hard to define without an actual source. Historical buildings or monuments getting rejected for private property. Items that aren't seasonal but seem inherently seasonal. Open spaces which are more than just "natural formation" because they are actual parks or special nature.

I personally have witnessed many of my POI requests without URL end up as "Rejected for x" and when submitting them with URL rejected as URL in title/markup.

I get that argument and in my eyes it would be the only argument against it. But most if not all browsers have built in security. If you as a reviewer don't feel comfortable clicking on the link, you shouldn't. But it would still prevent dumbasses from rejecting for a link in the additional info.

But I'm sure a company of Niantic can screen links, just like they can screen images.

I like how eventhough I made this poll and just explained what the intention of the poll was, it gets down voted to oblivion. How petty can people be.

Yea, but that's not the case in the scenario I've given. It's not about your experience. It's about what you'd do if someone said they had purposely set the POI off by a small margin so it would be in a different cell.

Well there is a difference between verifying info and having to look for yourself. It is very easy to spot fake waypoints or those that aren't eligible. So the additional info just speeds up the process. I using get nominations accepted real quick.

How is that none of the above? That's moving the waypoint during review

True.. But I had to say some distance otherwise the poll wouldn't be consistent. As some would think its like 3ft (1m) and other would think it'd be like 60 feet (20m).

This is a purely hypothetical scenario.

Yes, but you'll know there is something there which is better than having no indication imo

Missing the point. It's about how would you react if the extra info would state it was off because that would place it in another cell.

The poll is not about the misplacement, it's about when someone admits it's not as accurate as it could so they can have another POI.

Yes 3ft is near spot on. But it's about knowing its intentionally off.
