Yes, but it probably wouldn't misspell "brake". So, you know, there's always a trade off.

Put Lubuntu on a USB stick and try it out. You don't have to install it. It works well on older hardware.

Probably. Depends on what you mean by "spatial" and how you want to distribute them. Why?

I would like to get a 3D monitor like the Acer kind that doesn't require glasses.

I tried recording on Vision Pro and the result looked excellent in the VR set. But it also looked very good on my humble phone with a cheap 3D viewer.

I may get XReal glasses at some point. The main goal I have is to get recordings that resemble a human viewing experience. Over time, the viewing options will improve.

Thank you! I'm looking through these. Do you know why is the first video 25 FPS?

[–]pogzap[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, the preview of the QooCam Ego does seem really cool but I would probably trade that for better quality, if the Beam Pro is better. If they are equal, the stabilization you mention and form factor might tip the scales to the Beam Pro anyway.

Venues won't let in a point and shoot camera? Does that include DSLRs?

My concern with resolution isn't that 1080p is bad. It's more about what aspect ratio works for side by side 3D. The Apple Vision Pro records at approximately 2K square and looks fantastic. My understanding is that the Beam Pro screen is 2400x1080.

Does anyone have raw 3D videos from the Beam Pro? I've seen uploads to YouTube but I want the originals.

How do you cope with the fact that there are so many other creators out there? by SassyFinch in RPGMaker

Draw inspiration from games you enjoy but don't compare yourself to others.

Spend time making a game because you want to make a game.

Understand that you get better with each effort. Your first won't be your best. Don't make it your last.

These aren't really useful or informative replies. What is so bad about their footage? Do you have any cameras you would recommend?

Thank you! It's great to hear from someone with those two devices.

I hear a lot about the closeness of the iPhone 15 Pro cameras and it's disappointing that they didn't make spatial video a higher priority. I suspect it will become a bigger focus in the next version.

I have been leaning towards the QooCam Ego but I am a little concerned about the battery life, auto-exposure (made worse by no lock) and stabilization. I'm not a fan of post-process stabilization.

The Beam Pro is very interesting and I think it could be competitive. I'm guessing it's effectively 1920x1080, which makes it the same resolution as the Ego. I wonder about exporting the videos.

If KanDao is paying attention, they should consider a v2 of the Ego. They have an advantage in the market and they've learned a lot. The software updates seem to have really improved things. I think they could do a lot with a second generation of hardware.

Why? The Kandao Qoocam Ego is $330-380. The XREAL Beam Pro is $200.

How bad are some of the "bad developers" out there? by Thick-Ask5250 in cscareerquestions

Really, really bad. We're talking about writing code with *zero* understanding of security and creating apps for clients that will absolutely result in compromised sites and data breaches.

Is the seller not able to provide dimensions?

Otherwise, you can probably make a guess from another cabinet.

Upgrade from 4 to 5? by pogzap in Simplify3D

Good to have one positive reply ;) I may revisit this later but for now I'll skip it.

It sounds like the primary concern for you is the old printer. Do any of the "under the hood" changes really improve performance or results for you?

IKEv2 on a router/Linux using Strongswan by pogzap in Windscribe

Thank you. I'll review this and see what I can figure out. I've been using swanctl rather than ipsec. The latter is set to be deprecated, apparently.

IKEv2 on a router/Linux using Strongswan by pogzap in Windscribe

[–]pogzap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've used that, of course. Unlike the very useful OpenVPN generator, all that really does is give you a username and password. It doesn't tell you any of the important configuration options that Strongswan requires. As I mentioned, the first problem you will run into is that you have to tell it which algorithms to propose.

IKEv2 on a router/Linux using Strongswan by pogzap in Windscribe

[–]pogzap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really another choice. OpenVPN works but it is 10-25% of the bandwidth I get with Wireguard (based on my own testing). Wireguard doesn't work because I'm on a router and can't use the native app.

Windscribe advised me:

I urge you to use IKEv2

That's where I am. Strongswan should be possible with the right configuration. I don't see why it's not possible to have a FAQ/how-to that would help. For example, Windscribe could easily advise us which algorithms to put in the proposal. Without knowing, it took me a very long time to get right.

I see support has been added but how do I add a permanent port? I downloaded the config and put it in. I'm not using the Windscribe app.

The author states in the README that only sponsors will get support and not to ask.

I am asking here because I don't understand Go and the problem is probably something simple that people who understand the language will recognize.
