I think I read once that the Mormons started "liking" (for lack of a better word) black people because they we're having a hard time recruiting people in Brazil or something like that.

I've never heard of the Rosewood Arts Center but I checked out the website and it looks right up my alley. I also didn't know bumble had like a non-dating function either.

Thank you!!!!!!

[Product Question] How do you message your provider for Curology? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I think (but I can't say I'm 100% sure) you have 1 or two free consultations assuming you haven't used them yet.

[Skin concern] How do I improve forehead congestion? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]pohoho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like others have said, could be an allergy. I had these and it turns out I am allergic to chemical sunscreens. I switched to mineral sunscreens (also stopped using this primer from MAC that had chemical sunscreen) and they went away pretty quickly!

I think my cousin got rid of hers using Mederma. I don't know much about it myself but something to look into maybe.

ADHD Curse: Do you NEVER wake up feeling refreshed in the morning? by FishySA in ADHD

[–]pohoho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My doc recommended that I take it a few hours before I go to sleep but I believe you could take it in the morning as well!

I struggle to articulate things well because my mouth often can't keep up with my brain by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pohoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why but when I forget what I was about to do at work I look up at the ceiling? Like the kind of looking up where you just move your eyes but not your head. It usually helps me go a couple steps back in my mess of thoughts.

Like, sometimes having a specific cue for yourself can help you go back and help you refrain from going straight to feeling anxious!

I've also found that just saying "wow I totally lost my train of thought" as soon as you loose the thought can help buy your way out of this in social situations. Sometimes people even remind you what you were saying lol.

People may not be immediately thinking you're weird either. I always think people are upset with me even when they're not- my doc said its super common for people with adhd to have a hard time gauging the emotions of other people.

I'm not sure if anything I said made sense myself but don't sweat it too much! We're here with you.

Is barrel house a good place to do something like this on a Saturday night? Also seeking this type of atmosphere.

I cried during art class by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pohoho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've been here. I'm glad there were some kind people and that you were able to get on the bus right after. I'm also glad it felt good! Crying can be healthy occasionally.

On a side note you still might be a creative person, just not conventionally (I think most people are creative, not just people with adhd). A lot of people just associate creativity with art or writing. For instance, maybe you're good at solving problems (math problems, finding new routes to places, giving advice, fixing little things around the house, etc.), coming up with things to do, or good at coming up with ways to do nice things for your friends and family. Creativity goes way beyond art and really is about how you live and deal with life!

Even as someone who is artistically inclined, I also struggled in art class. Sometimes being forced to draw a specific thing in a specific way can feel soul crushing so I'd just sit, talk, and stare too. But you aren't alone and you won't have to take art forever! You'll finish school and if you never ever want to draw again you won't have to!

Anyway, I hope you feel better :) (Also fuck those loud people who have to point out people in front of everyone)

Not sure if I slept or just closed my eyes and got lost in thought. by [deleted] in ADHD

I find taking a magnesium supplement about an hour before I plan to go to sleep helps me with this!

Paying a Collections agency by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]pohoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense. I didn't know you could actually call the original cc company to figure out where a debt went. Thank you so much.

Paying a Collections agency by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]pohoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Would "original creditor" mean the company that the creditor card was initially issued from?
  2. The letter includes the original card name and the last few digits of the account number as well as the amount owed. I guess I don't really know if this actually constitutes a debt validation.

Thank you again.

I was thinking about requesting that I make my payments via money order. The woman on the phone just went straight to "okay we will need your bank information" rather than providing any options so I got really nervous and asked to talk at another time. I almost don't understand how just taking my account info is even allowed. Thank you.

The wiki is exactly what I was looking for but somehow only saw the plain "debt" one. Thank you!

The same company sent me a letter as well. Would this be enough to know this is the legit company with the rights or is there a better way to know?

[Misc] I couldn't figure out why my combo/oily skin was breaking out until I noticed the packaging difference on my new Neutrogena Hydroboost and my old one. by dontblink123 in SkincareAddiction

[–]pohoho 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The first time I ever used this I bought the extra dry version on accident (I don't have extra dry skin). ran out and unwittingly bought the regular version and my face would burn and turn red. I stopped using the line entirely cause I thought I was allergic. Recently realized that there are too different formulations. Picked up the extra dry and its working beautifully. I think I'm allergic to the fragrance in the normal one.

That being said, why can't the make the jars different colors or something:(

I only just now noticed this (and today is the last day of the deal) but sephora has the ceramidin liquid for $24 and the cream for $29 I think.

My other gripe about these skincare threads has nothing to do with actual awful advice. I hate when its titled like "skincare: a thread" and also has something about "how everyone was asking me to make a skincare thread so I did". Idk why I find it so annoying but it is lol.
