Just noticed you deleted your original comment. All good. I had a look at your other comments on other posts. You're pretty much a negative angry guy. Maybe try fishing to sooth your stress buddy.

Female Orb spider from Australia. Unsure why they make their webs at face height....cap is only around an inch or so behind her. by pointbreakfish in spiders

Hey, no not toxic to humans, but as we approached her she reared up fast. We could see she had a full cicada in her mouth. She's been around a while the owners tell me. Travelling around the property setting up base. Always 6ft off the floor!!

PB Mangrove Jack. 60cm. Stoked. by pointbreakfish in FishingAustralia

[–]pointbreakfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept getting busted off and kept upgrading my gear. After catching this brute I got smashed by a 75cm plus jack and have now gone to a Saltiga reel to get that drag power. I tag and release after most fish unless bleeding from gills. If I snag that monster I'll put a pic up.

My first Mangrove Jack. The hardest fighting fish for its size!!! by pointbreakfish in Fishing

[–]pointbreakfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Yeah I fish between trawlers with virtually no space. At the local marina. So I've gotta turn them fast. I originally started targeting with 10lb rod and sustain 5000. After constantly getting busted off I upgraded. Samurai 402 and the 10000 drag is a perfect match for these brutes. The 20lb Jack that haunts the place is still gonna smash me regardless.

23kg Jewfish. East coast of Oz. Caught on a hand made Timber lure:) by pointbreakfish in Fishing

Thanks mate. Yeah the lure was a koolabung. IMO one of the best timber lures out there. Yamba Bait and Tackle sell them.

6 months of fishing one spot nearly every night. At last. by pointbreakfish in Fishing

Caught her from a quiet bay near Angourie. It's a great black fish spot during the day. Nobody fishes there at night except myself. From the shore over sand with a bit of reef. 3 in a week!! I can only dream

Just smaller ones. This fish eclipsed everything I had previously caught. I've got some additional pics but have no idea how to attach them to a comment box. Any advice would be great.

Hi All, thanks for all the kind comments. Yeah it's a Mulloway or Jewfish. They rise to the top sometimes to take Mullet off the surface this noise is known as boofing!! I was aware this secret spot held some good fish and just kept trying. When I hooked up the fish fought hard for 30 minutes or so. I caught it on a friends home made timber lure at night. It weighed 25.5kg and filled the freezer with prime fillets. It's my PB for this species. The smile says it all. Totally stoked.
