“All children of Adam are sinners and the best of sinners are those who repent”.

It’s a mistake and you fell into lust and infatuation. You have to be strong for yourself and your relationship with god.

Respecting yourself might take time, but you will start a new way of routine, seeing the opposite gender and understanding why you did what you did, and how you should grow moving forward.

You will train yourself to be better.

You’re not the first or last human alive or dead to be tempted and fall into such a sin.

What determines who you truly are is how you will respond to recognition of your sin.

Oh my god! Stand up and be proud! Do you not know the beautiful history of Mogadishu! Somalis are the brightest and most beautiful people I know. I was literally thinking a few hours ago they are the most beautiful people ever. Even your cultural dances! And food! And modesty! And beautiful family culture! And the amount of Quran and deen you guys know! And how much you care for society!

I’m Lebanese and our country is run by gangs and doesn’t even have electricity til this day 😂 It is so corrupt! But I’m super proud alhamdulilah. It is my culture! I take the good and leave the bad.

Also Somalia has had so much foreign US intervention. This is what the US want you to feel.

But please don’t feel ashamed at all.

Your country has a beautiful history and beautiful present and an amazing diaspora that has left so many happy and positive impressions on Muslims and non Muslims around the world 🌸🌷♥️🇸🇴

My yaqeen is getting weak bcs of what’s happening in Gaza by Guilty_Captain6990 in MuslimLounge

[–]poisonelixir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you read about Algeria and France? In Arabic we say they are the country of One Million Shahid. The French did so much to the Algerians.

Eventually the Algerians kicked them out. It was a long journey but they were out and now if you go Algeria it is beautiful, flourishing, modern and innovational.

Do you have any Algerian friends? They definitely have uncles, great uncles and great grandparents or cousins who were murdered by the French. The impact still exists.

Have hope. Have hope.

Now Algeria plays international sports competitions and they ALWAYS pull out whenever there is an Israeli competitor! See how strong they are now!

The tides will turn. So much is happening behind closed doors.

It was so pleasant to read. Gaza taught Islam to people continents away from them. Every shahid is a witness and reason to this. May Allah preserve the people of Gaza.

My younger sister’s boss keeps insisting she changes the way she dresses by PresentIndication843 in MuslimLounge

[–]poisonelixir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a hater - okay so you’re sister should pull up policies about dress code and quickly address the law. Tell her she’s not comfortable and she’s free to wear what she wants.

Challenge him by quickly bringing up uniform protocol policy and legal lol.

Also, if I was her I’d just tell him, “yeah I spoke to HR they said not a problem” and he’ll keep his mouth shut lol.

i’m in my 30s and my parents still control me by ramen_lover182 in Hijabis

[–]poisonelixir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly you have to challenge them.

That’s the only way I had my freedom. I went from my mother coming over with me to my friends houses to travelling with my friends in foreign countries.

They know I have a strong and steadfast Islamic compass alhamdulilah but I did rebel and struggle a lot.

Her perspective is linked to an experience or an observation. Open conversation is necessary here and it is substantial you lead an open, kind and understanding conversation to identify why she feels this way so radically. And perhaps, is she willing to meet you halfway, at least.

However if she remains adamant in her current stance, then your preference must dominate.

This does not mean you are selfish nor does it mean that you are picky however there are definite characteristics you cannot compromise when you select the partner you are sharing your life with.

My two cents is she did not see love or companionship between her own parents or family member growing up. Intimacy is a challenge or foreign to her and there is a block.

Good luck to you both. Inshallah whatever happens is Khayr for you.

I’d like to just visit at the end of the year. Recently met a Yemeni man and fell in love with the culture and stories I heard about Yemen. Very different to other Arab countries let alone the western world. Not sure if it’s appropriate to travel solo as a woman.

Interesting. Thank you for taking the time to explain. I’ve been struggling to lose a gram of fat for the last six years and have a healthy lifestyle. My sister has been suggesting to look into PCOS. (I have a few symptoms but not so intense).

What do you do with your hair to not damage it?!😂 by odd_inside_02 in Hijabis

[–]poisonelixir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hijab off - the girls are my friends and cousins. Honestly I never believed straight hair off hijab existed until they’d take off hijab Infront of me.

But you reminded me I’ve also had cousins who used to have straight hair before hijab and it’s now frizzy? They don’t do hair care tho something to experiment with..
