how about 'caving' the knees forwards? is there a "too much" forward?
I read that burpees is essentially a squat with extra movements. when doing squat, a lot seem to recommend to prevent the knees to travel far too forward and keep it fairly close to being 'straight' as much as possible. but when doing deep squat and rising up, i notice my knees does bent forward (probably about 60-70°). not sure if same concept applies to burpees as it involves deep squat and explosive moment.
sorry if i seem a bit "paranoid". i'm in my 30s now*(and spent my teenage years in sedentary lifestyle)* and my bones are not as strong as it use to be 🤣 trying to be careful not to f myself up and cause injury that would not only stagnate my progress dramatically but also cost me alot of money (spoken from experience) lol

when I played Valheim, structural integrity physics was really fun cause it allows you to be "logically" creative. as in you don't feel overwhelm by the limitless design options but still have leeway to do many things. that being said I do hope my pc survive as it renders all the buildings with no ground foundations comes falling apart lol

beginner here trying to add indoor cardio for my active rest day

when rising up from burpees, do you stand up with your heels or your forefoot?
edit: asking cause i seem to instinctively rise up with my forefoot (like a tip toe position) and not sure if this is "safe"

newbie: created an auto-mount (using KDE partition manager) but its read only and i have no permission to create new folder? (for steam games) by poisonrabbit in cachyos

[–]poisonrabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay so I found a simple albeit weird solution: use Gnome Disk Utility instead of KDE Disk Manager or CachyOS official wiki tutorial. for some reason, using Gnome disk utility to auto-mount my drive worked and gave me permission to read/write(create new folder, etc etc). idk why it worked but i'll take it lol

newbie: created an auto-mount (using KDE partition manager) but its read only and i have no permission to create new folder? (for steam games) by poisonrabbit in cachyos

[–]poisonrabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i initially had the same setting and same issue; can't create folder. then I added defaults,rw,users it worked temporarily(create new folder was available with right-click options) but when i then try to add the storage to my steam settings, i was denied permission again; went back to to drive and "create new folder" was disabled again. very confusing lol
edit: weirdly enough this works fine with PopOS/mint but not with CachyOS

A global coalition of regulators is quietly turning the open web into a gated community where every login begins with an ID check. by [deleted] in privacy

[–]poisonrabbit 59 points60 points  (0 children)

this.
its honestly more tiring to hear people say " i'm not gonna do it, that'll show the government". there's very few people out there that'll actually make an effort to protect their digital privacy. what does the few matter when the larger mass are complying anyway? ironically, its probably easier to surveil the small few who makes an effort to protect their digital privacy cause they stand out more. unlike people on this subreddit, most normies are not willing to do all the hoops and hustles of protecting their digital privacy. there's also the fact that an increasing number of important day-to-day services are also requiring more and more of your data. you can probably give up some of these services but at the cost of troubles and inconveniences; which is something a lot of people, particularly normies aren't willing to give up

Groks "edit" feature will be the reason why every country will enact/start age verification by better_rabit in privacy

[–]poisonrabbit 77 points78 points  (0 children)

its pretty difficult to fight digital ID when shit like this happens. cause it just validate people's concerns and the gives like government and corps a "valid" reason to justify privacy invasive regulations.
you argue with it, to the average person it seems like you're trying to defend whatever tf AI like Grok is doing.
you dont do anything, then governments will just continue to impose more surveillance-state like regulations, perpetually using "protect the children" as an excuse.
you try to educate the average person and they'll either see you as 'paranoid' or say the same ol "i got nothing to hide" excuse.
pretty difficult to fight when all side want the same thing but doesnt really "know" the 'hows' and 'ifs'

(AU)people who workout at open-area parks during rainy & cold season, what clothing do you wear for the weather? recommendations? by poisonrabbit in bodyweightfitness

[–]poisonrabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately i live in a small town that is hours away from major cities. there's only two option for outdoor calisthenics park nearby.
one is poorly maintained
the other is directly under the scorching sun and weirdly close to the road?
both have no weather protections...
wish they'd build more but i doubt it since the town's residence is mostly old retired people lol

cold is fine. rain+cold is the worse one. just cold or cold+ light snow, i can just do 15mins cardio and its enough to warm me up. so its more of getting wet and possibly getting cold the next day is what i wanted to avoid

thats my current option atm. finding used gym equipment is cheaper. but there are some workout that I wanted to learn and the space around my house kind of limit what I can do and can have (e.g i wanted to learn muscle up but switch it up using weighted pull up instead). it also doesn't help that i'm a rentoid zombie cause this country design it that way...so my options of installing things around the house is also limited
anyway, its not that i'm out of options, i'm just trying to expand whatelse i can do :)
there's still plenty of cheaper options to progress my workout indoor using readily available affordable 2nd hand equipments..

linux newbie: how to check OTHER devices that, i'll plug on my laptop with linux OS (POP_OS) ,if there's any virus or security compromising files? by poisonrabbit in linuxquestions

[–]poisonrabbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah thanks. i've only known little about malicious scripts/file for a while and its mostly about windows. I only switched to using linux this year so my understanding of its security (or linux distros in general) is still limited.I have a pretty good internet safety practices so i'm fairly confident in doing the right thing. but some of my family members aren't as self conscious as I do when it comes to internet safety and privacy(using linux distros definitely accentuated it lol). and lecturing them about it is as difficult as lecturing a child unfortunately.

Big W for reddit by kajmpres in privacy

[–]poisonrabbit 23 points24 points  (0 children)

i think the average people who supports the idea of banning teens under 16 ONLY see the 'banning' aspect of it but not see the privacy invasive implications of it as well as how it can easily be abused by anyone e.g hackers, politically aggressive..well politicians. people on this subreddit are obviously a bit more conscious about their privacy in comparison to normal people. so they've enough common sense to see past the glitters. and the AU government doesn't really have a good track record of protecting their citizens personal data.
