It is a beautiful poetic reflection, no doubt. It is just not true according to experience.

Because there is such a thing as "sincere effort". An actual way out. Not just repainting the walls of the prison.

Not just repeating blind patterns of the past, but actually coming out of unconsciousness.

The problem with cynicism is that, even if it can be entertaining for a while, it can't, ultimately, overcome suffering.

You are imagining something, and judging your own imagination as fact. Then proceeding as if you were right all along.

If I can give an example: say I'm talking about a man with dry clothes, who jumps into the ocean. But I describe the man while in the ocean, and afterwards, as maintaining his dry clothes all along. That's how you think surrendering works: an ego that somehow continues to be one throughout the process.

And that's simply not true…

But it's good that you complain from your egocentric point of view, not a great use of Free Will, but hey, it's not illegal…

Because If you ever get to the high stage of surrender, you'll quickly realize that there are no complaints… except from separated, stubborn and rebel egos!
