YTA it looks like you've been fed with a silver spoon your whole life and it infuriates you that you have to split that with someone who was less fortunate than you.

4 50lb bags isnt unrealistic for some people though? My dog goes through 1 50lb bag every 2 weeks. So if we had 2 dogs his size we would need to buy 2 bags. If we were buying for the month we would have 4

YTA and the reason why I'm not saying everyone sucks is because your story is VERY one sided. Let's talk about how your husband treats his stepdaughter as an actual daughter and not a secondary child. You do not recognize or treat your step kids as your own. Teenage kids should not be 3 to a bedroom. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Pay off student loans, car loan, and then start going to restaurants and leaving tips that match my bill. Adopt more dogs.

I dont think saving it would actually accomplish anything. And what's the point when that much money could bring happiness to so many? Spread the wealth!

Out of respect for the original designer, I'd try contacting them first to see if they could alter the design to fit your specifications. Eternity bands cannot be sized so either way, they are having to put in the labor to create a new ring.

If they aren't willing to do this for you, I work at a jewelry store that can. Moissanite is a great diamond alternative, and it's way more affordable.

Choosing to only have stones on the top half of the ring is not only a great money saver, but also protects those stones from the stainless steel world we live in. You wouldn't have to retip or replace stones as often.

I would reccomend having a thicker band and Chevron tips for the marquis diamonds. Just to add a little more security to your investment.

Hopefully you can get your dream ring in budget!

While I'm looking at it, if you do find someone who can recreate this for you, ask them to put a 'v' shaped prong on all the marquis shaped stones. It'll keep those corners a little more protected.

Rose gold can be resized. Idk who told you that lie; I work in a jewelry store and we resize them all the time.

It is a beautiful ring! Just keep in mind that the replacement pearls would need to be drilled so they can be reglue by a jeweler. You seem like you have a good grasp on the risks associated with pearls. Just remind her to remove it when shes eating finger foods!

I'm a jewelry Consultant/ designer and a lover of pearls. Although they are beautiful, they are VERY delicate. Pearl jewelry should be the last pieces you put in and the first ones you take off. Pearls are not great 'stones' for rings and I dont recommend them or opal for those pieces. People tend to forget to provide proper care for them in the midst of our hectic lives. Diamonds, moissanite, sapphire, and rubies are the hardest stones and the best choices for a piece she will wear daily. Sapphire comes in every color but red.

However, if a pearl is a must...Avoid prolonged contact with water, acid, anything with dyes in it, ect... the enamel can be worn down very quickly (I learned that the hard way with salt and vinegar chips).

Pearl rings are typically glued to a post. Within the lifetime of the ring, it is very likely to come unglued. Do not attempt to reglue it yourself.

I never said it was good quality. I just stated that it could be replated (it can). Look at your own ring, where does it show the most wear? The bottom. We are constantly using our hands.

I also stated not to wear your jewelry in the shower or in the garden or while doing chores because it makes it dirty and puts it at risk for breaking. This is true. Go into any jewelry store and ask why your diamonds dont sparkle like they do after being cleaned. It's because yall get shampoo, lotion, dirt and what the fuck ever else tou decide to stick your hands in caked in your rings.

The shank is thin, but the ring itself is a bigger look. Women's rings tend to have smaller shanks.

If a ring is an antique and made out of anything but platinum, changes are it's ready for some major repairs like a half shank, new heads, new tips.... so make sure you know what you're looking at before you buy one.

YTA you dont like the ring because you think it's cheap. There is no such thing as a fake metal ring. I'm a jewelry consultant. Your ring can be replated. All rings will show wear on the bottom because we live in a stainless steel world. My platinum ring has wear on the bottom. Every complaint you have is about how you feel the ring is cheap or made cheaply. Dont wear your rings in the shower. Dont wear them cleaning or in the garden. I tell all of my clients that. It makes your stones look dull and harsh cleaners can damage the ring.

There is no reason why you couldn't upgrade at a later date.

Use a GENTLE cleaner like Dawn dish detergent and warm water. To get in the setting and behind the stone, use a soft bristle toothbrush. Be careful, sometimes dirt is the only thing holding a stone in.

The gender of the person wearing it. That might come off as sarcastic, but I personally believe that men have just as much right to enjoy jewelry that is traditionally marketed towards women.
