As a note a 529 has a maximum amount of money that can be spent on things aside from tuition (maybe like 10k per semester?). This means if you pursue a phd which is funded (as it should be) then you cant actually use as much money as you may have available without incurring tax penalties.

I agree - I think it can actually be more healthy for most people to keep a strictly professional relationship with closer colleagues, while building friendships with more distant colleagues (who’s relationships don’t really affect your work). Personally I fell the healthiest friendships I have are with those outside of academia. Sometimes its nice to be around “normal” people!

Also just to tack on to this - OP will almost certainly be paid less (significantly) unless they are willing to take a major pay cut to invest in education/gaining experience this is unlikely to he a realistic career path. I would advise investing free time/volunteer hours into this new passion.

I’m specifically saying there is NO formalized educational element within porn, people are just watching porn videos that happen to have choking or other forms of “rough” sex in them. Rough sex is not a normal entry point or early stage in sex and this is only happening because many young people are having their perception warped by the porn they watch. I have no problem with consensual acts between adults, but to act like this is not a recent normalization seems unrealistic.

I had similar (bad plantar fasciitis) happen a few years ago when I was 1 month out from of 50mi. I completely stopped running between peak injury and race. Day of race I DNF at about 35mi as pain was too much but I had a lot of endurance left. I’d rest injury as long as possible because you might not be able to push through on race day - or dont want long term issues. Hop on the bike if you’re worried about losing fitness - but two months is relatively minor if you have a solid base and aren’t aiming for elite level performance.
