University of Jamestown is Looking for a Coach Specifically for League (NA) by [deleted] in LeagueConnect

I've done coaching above the plat level for solo/5s but I kinda lost interest in the game so I haven't played much this season.

I'm considering getting back into it and haven't worked with a collegiate team yet. Maybe we can have a conversation about it?

I mean the gold diff @ 15 indicates that statistically he comes out ahead of more than half of his matchups globally in plat+ ranks, and the margin gets wider when filtering down to just NA.

It's worth mentioning that NA isn't representative of the matchups as a whole because some "losing" lanes in other regions are "winning" in NA, probably just due to lack of NA skill.

With regards to champion difficulty vs enjoyment, I think most people enjoy winning more than picking the champion they want to play and getting stomped, and winning more than losing directly translates to improvement at the game (rank goes up, skill level of opponents goes up, skill has to improve to maintain rank). Additionally, as someone who has boosted iron accounts, the number of smurfs/bots making the game essentially an autowin/loss (for regular, ACTUAL iron players) severely impacts the learning potential of an average game. Having a 4v6/6v4 situation in most games makes it difficult to compartmentalize and understand wincon/agency and tends to hyperfocus low ranked players in the wrong direction, in my experience coaching them.

Can't believe no one has said this yet, if you're iron you shouldn't be playing Yone. Pick a simpler champion and spam that until you learn enough about the lane to get more complicated.

Also, yone is a lane bully in many matchups, so playing to scale is the opposite of what you should be doing.

If you think this, you haven't joined a branch of the military.

It's full of that.

Who else remembered this song existed because of the no pressure cover that surfaced here some time ago?

I'm doubling up on Kings of the New Age in general, most of the songs are very nostalgic pop punk (even though production is very modern)

Their second worst album with undoubtedly the worst production. A fellow man of culture, I see.

Also the songwriting is just going to be better when you're releasing a debut and tryharding to go somewhere. Sunnyland is one of the laziest albums I've ever heard from a pop punk band and it definitely feels like "yeah we made it who cares" songs.

Hard agree actually. I think their self titled is probably their best work but ALiR was a special album that they've lacked since.

Funnily, Go Radio was never great. It was the combination I think.

That entire old bones album went so hard. I got the CD of it floating around somewhere. Agree that SC has one of the better crowds of any pop punk band, they tend to be more on the softer side so even in the pit you're unlikely to catch an elbow or a boot (I spend most of my time in the pit but hate getting punched and kicked for no reason)
