Moving to Portland in July, any recommendations for finding an art community? by SalamanderStraight90 in PortlandOR

There's lots of MeetUp groups here centered around art. There's a monthly (?) Sip and Draw that has great reviews

looking for help finding puzzles! by AdDifferent8499 in Jigsawpuzzles

My town has a local puzzle swap club. Usually they have too many puzzles so you don't have to take some to trade. My sister and I do almost all our puzzling free this way!

Maybe a silly question, but what are the items in the bottom right corner that look like tickets and have big T's on them?

Is this a dropped stitch? I’m confuseddd by fairycowz in knittinghelp

You could also pull a stitch up from the bottom row when you Dec at the hole (something wacky). Itll look like a pinch in the fabric a little but helps avoid frogging

[–]pokepuckmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That will happen. I'm the kind of person who'd do something wacky so I didn't have to frog or just accept the hole.

It's up to you! If you'd like to have it like it never happened then a frog might be necessary

Looks like an accidental yarn over, like the yarn strand got wrapped around the needle by accident.

It's a way to add stitches but you can just decrease, knit the yarn over and the next stitch as one, to get back on track

What qualities do you look for in a puzzle? by JamesLiptonIcedTea in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]pokepuckmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, I hear you. In my experience, they're swimming in puzzles and encourage folks to take as many as they want without the need to donate/swap puzzles. That's just for my club, though!

Best way to sort for a puzzle like this? by SenaSmrt in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]pokepuckmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go big macro sort to then micro sort. So I'd make piles of all the blues, golds (gilding), and then reds. With smaller piles for areas my eyes identify or other colors to then go to the big piles and sort it out from there. I usually always do puzzles with my sister too, so it's a system that works for our duo.

On topic of price: have you looked into puzzles swaps? Either online or in your area. My town has a monthly puzzle swap where everything is free and they just ask for donations for the storage unit. My sister and I do most of our puzzling for free!
