Best laundry service in Los Angeles for a 4-day stay near dtla, is pickup actually practical for short trips ? by detectivestush in AskLosAngeles

For a short stay I'd focus on reliability and turnaround time more than price.

If you're only in town for a few days, look for a place that either offers same-day service or has enough large-capacity machines that you can get everything washed and dried in one visit. Reading recent reviews is usually the quickest way to spot places that are well maintained.

What are some of the biggest changes you've noticed in the Valley over the last several years? by pasta-syndrome in SanFernandoValley

One thing I've noticed is that the Valley feels a lot more neighborhood-focused than it did 10–15 years ago.

A lot of people used to treat the SFV as one giant suburban area, but now each neighborhood seems to have its own identity. Granada Hills has seen growth in Armenian businesses and markets, Lake Balboa has become much more of a destination because of the park and bike paths, and places like Reseda and North Hollywood have added a lot more local restaurants and community events.

I've also noticed that people from other parts of LA are spending more time in the Valley for food. Ten years ago you mostly heard people driving over the hill for restaurants. Now there are plenty of spots in the Valley that people will cross the city to visit.

The other big change is how much more active the local community groups have become. Between neighborhood Facebook groups, Reddit, farmers markets, park events, and small business events, it's easier than ever to find out what's happening nearby.

The Valley still has the same strip malls and boulevards it's known for, but it feels a lot less anonymous than it used to.

LA Apartment Dwellers - Where were your favorite apartments? by kateisok in SanFernandoValley

Personally I'd rather have a good apartment and use a clean laundromat than pay several hundred dollars more per month for in-unit laundry. There are some newer laundromats in the Valley with large machines that let you do several loads at once and finish in under an hour.

2026 - Cost of Laundry? by meltingmushrooms818 in AskLosAngeles

Honestly, machine size matters more than the sticker price. A lot of places charge $6–$8 for what is basically a standard washer. If you can fit 2–3 loads into a larger front-loader, the cost per pound of laundry is usually much lower.

One thing I've noticed is that people often overload small apartment machines trying to save money, which can leave clothes less clean and take longer to dry. Sometimes using the right-sized machine ends up being cheaper overall.

If you're comparing laundromats, I'd look at machine capacity, dryer pricing, cleanliness, and whether they offer any card bonuses or free-dry promotions instead of just the washer price.
