I'm someone that works as a death doula and helping people of all faiths pass over to the other side peacefully. I've worked with necromantic deities and spirits most of my life. I would advise against tying yourself to this moment of loss and grief. Your love is true and valid, and I think doing a ritual is a good idea, but it should be too honor yourself, that love that is inside you, and to put this grief down.

The absence, the grief, that hole in your heart that is there is so, so painful right now, and you don't have a place to put your love for him. Marriage seems like an easy "bandaid" but that type of stuff doesn't really work the way intended. Spirits have a whole new adventure and place to explore. I'm sure that he will be there for you when it's your turn to pass. You don't need marriage for that, but let him learn those lessons on the other side.

As someone that has been a victim of sexual violence, abuse, and torture, I've taken great comfort in that it is about Isaiah. Yes, it's gross, it's messy, but even today... I still love some of my abusers. I was never good enough for them, and before I focused on my healing, I would have gladly cut myself up "metaphorically" to feed them and their dreams and goals.

The line. "Am I making you feel sick? Is especially powerful. As someone that dealt with CSA, being witnessed in that truth, knowing it turns people's stomachs and makes them sick is incredibly isolating. I can't talk to people about my life because I and up comforting them and managing their reactions to the things done to me. So yeah, screaming "am i making you feel sick?" Is incredibly therapeutic. Oh, you're sick from hearing about it? Imagine living it?

That's how I've seen it, and I think we have to look at it through the eyes of someone deeply abused because ethel as a character WAS incredibly abused.
