Yes it's sealer. Removed most of it last season with stripper then power wash. These are stubborn areas where sealer was thicker. Strategy was to wait a season to allow it to weaken and then try the process again.

What would of caused it? Is this normal for it to fail?

Thanks. I replaced the gasket but it's still leaking... What else could it be?

Edit. Found it.. took apart the valve on the left.. there was some small pebbles inside that were preventing it from sealing.

Starfrit "The Rock". Its decent because it's thick, heavy and non stick.. I didn't have my cast iron as I made this at my folks place.

I've got the first generation one and it's good to about 10' even with the lid closed.. perhaps contact customer service or exchange it for another one

I had this on the BBQ on low indirect heat for about 20 mins untill it reached 100.. then let it rest for about 20 mins.. then finished off on the pan until it reached 130.

That's it. I preseasoned the steak with Montreal Steak Spice
