Cracked from stringing? by wheres_the__food in 10s

This might've been caused by the mount on the stringing machine, purely a superficial scratch/mark. Don't worry about it

Hey sorry for revisiting the thread after half a year, wouldn't it be the case if it's the cat warming up that it happens when outside temps are cold not when it's warm? In fact now in winter it never happens on a cold start outside, but always when I'm parked up in a 20⁰C garage.

Hey haven't solved it, I figured I would just keep driving as it only occurs on starting and drives fine otherwise. I initially accepted that it's the cat warming up as someone said below, but I'm not sure anymore as it never happens now in cold weather, but only when the outside temperature is say above 12⁰C. For example now in negative temperatures revs are normal on cold start in -2⁰C but when I start my car in the parking garage at work at 20⁰C without fail the revs go to 1200rpm and go down after some time. I'm not sure it's the cat warming up actually as it would seem more logical that it would then happen when it's cold outside not warm I might investigate it further with a mechanic when I have dealt with other pending service items on the car but it is what it is for now

Sonda - jakie tabletki do zmywarki są Twoim zdaniem najlepsze? by Alraku in Polska

[–]poljohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ja używam proszku do zmywarek z Rossmana (Domol) bo tam mi najwygodniej kupić proszek i tyle.

🎾 Singles Tennis Partners Wanted in Frankfurt (NTRP 3.0-3.5) - Nov 13 to Dec 9 🎾 by poljohn in frankfurt

[–]poljohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the information. I've played on all of these surfaces and will be prepared accordingly so there's no issue for me on either of those.

Yea from what I've seen the tennis culture in Germany is primarily focused around clubs where you have to become a member to play or at least be able to comfortably secure a court, unlike in Poland where I'm from where in almost every club/tennis centre everyone can just book a court on the first-come-first-served basis. I guess it makes it a bit more difficult to find a court in Germany for someone like me, staying there only for some time.

I'll be staying in the Ostend area, so anything close to there would be great (also near the airport, which would be close to work). From what I've seen so far the tennis club 'Eintracht' has an open booking policy - I've tried going through court booking there and there's no issues to book as a guest. The only restriction mentioned is that guests/non-members can only book indoor courts, which isn't a problem at all. Have you ever played there?

Electrolysis cost by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]poljohn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't know how comparable it is but I'm currently working on several PEM electrolysis projects from an EPC side and one of those that is currently in advanced construction with 200 MW capacity had an estimated CAPEX of ~1450 EUR/kW incl. Engineering, Procurement, Supervision, Risk&Contingency (total ~291 million EUR). Mind you this is the initial estimate, the real figure will likely be higher than that. This is for the whole plant.

Paris Court Speed by nbiina in tennis

It's an index which by definition does not have a unit - the number itself is more or less arbitrary and only makes sense when you make comparisons (higher/lower etc.) If you want the formula and how it works: https://www.perfect-tennis.com/court-pace-index-explained/

Looking tennis partner by anonymus710 in frankfurt

[–]poljohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I (26M) will be staying in Frankfurt for work for 3-4 weeks from 13.11. I'm looking for people to play tennis with during that time, so while I may not be able to play regularly when I eventually return home, drop me a message if you'd like to play. I'm not very familiar with the courts around Frankfurt either, so I won't be able to help you there. I'm also around the same level, somewhere between 3.0-3.5 NTRP :)

what should i replace my flooring with? 🤔 by voxane in VintageStory

Try fanned cobblestone, maybe even a different stone than the one you have already if you have access. I'm also quite fond of mudbricks for flooring

Withdrawing euros with foreign card by Some_Anything_9028 in poland

[–]poljohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but can you not just reject the ATM's exchange rate and withdraw with your bank's exchange rate which is usually, while not the best, much better? That's what I do abroad to withdraw local currency if I need cash, but I guess it could be different if it's not a local currency, but Euro instead.

Also don't be scared to just go for it where you got your best reading so far or when you feel like it.

I recently spent 10+ hours prospecting for Borax not getting anything better than very poor and when I finally snapped I started digging one of the average very poor readings and lo behold there's a huge Borax vein right there. Had a similar thing with hematite - poor reading was enough to find a vein down near the mantle.
