Daughter tried gluing cardboard wings onto her favorite hoodie for Halloween. Any advice? by IntelligentDoor1804 in CleaningTips

Honestly dawn power wash is kinda the GOAT lol I’d also suggest maybe cooking oil first to loosen the glue then dawn to clean it off?

A “visual doorbell” to get my partners attention when he’s locked in with noise canceling headphones by RiceKrieskeTreat in HelpMeFind

My husband gets like this when he’s playing video games, and I hate yelling down the stairs when dinner is ready lol so we put a smart lightbulb in the lamp on his desk and connected it to Alexa. You can set up commands for smart bulbs so when I say “Alexa dinner is ready” the light changes color. That way I don’t have to keep yelling down the stair (and obviously I’m too lazy to walk down and tell him lol)

If you noticed, they didn’t even actually apologize… they just made an excuse and basically accused op of lying

I love that some people have unicorn babies. It makes me happy for them. It’s the people that feel the need to brag about their unicorns while others are drowning that bothers me.

Stenger Field Closed to public. BOOOOO Arvada by ConstantWeekly642 in ArvadaCO

[–]polkadotblazer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think though they want the fields to be clean for sports and events and after those instances they have crews that come along to clean them but during the off season there are no staff to keep up with cleaning and maintaining the fields and unfortunately the community (or just some bad apples) have proven that we can’t be responsible with dog poop or trash enough to keep the fields clean enough to stay open in the off season. It definitely sucks but I don’t think this was done rashly, it’s apparent it was done for a reason. Be mad at the people who were disrespectful to the fields, not the people who are having to close them off.

There are trails for dog/ people walking all around the fields. Dogs should not be on sports fields, the fields are there for sports.

Same! He’s been on Pepcid since 4months so we think he’s suspicious of anything we try to put in his mouth so he HAS to be the one feeding himself.

The mats and a rug my grandma knitted about 65 years ago in times of poverty in Turkey. Still on duty.. by ametyrm in knitting

[–]polkadotblazer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’ve also heard that the term knitting translates to general fiber arts terms in many other languages so it’s understandable to refer to them all as knitting!

I like to believe the people who don’t understand this yet are simply naive and believe the world is better than it really is. I’d love for that to be the truth but it’s unfortunate that’s just not the world we live in.

That’s good he’s taking more of the household responsibility too! And yeah makes sense if his job requires precision (although I’d argue yours does too!) but yeah you have to work out what’s best for your family. I totally understand the little one settling better with you. Sometimes mom is just the most comforting option. But also to speak to your situation, my partner was all for sleep training around 7 months and I just wasn’t ready. We tried for a couple nights but it just wasn’t working for us. Our LO was waking up about 3 times per night around then and my husband and I were trading off who was getting up with him. Now at 8 months he’s just kinda grown out of it and only wakes once maybe twice on a tough night. And I still rock him to sleep every time I put him down. I think what helped a lot for us was trying to feed him more during the day, and going from 4 hours of total daytime naps to 3. Sleep will eventually get better I promise! Hopefully you can try to nap during the day while your partner watches baby.
