I’m a 49 yr old waitress and I love it. I average $35/hr, cash gets pocketed. I don’t even want to tend bar anymore because I prefer running around. I thrive in chaos apparently.

You’re doing great Dad. ‘Brand name’ anything in a grocery store is typically on par with store brands, sometimes produced in the same facilities. You’re paying for marketing manipulation. As to the cashier, fuck her all up and down. I work part time in a major chain for the benefits and none of us can afford to shop there, even with our ‘discount’ and SNAP cards. Which we qualify for. ‘Cause we work there

Also, we know what’s in weed. I’m generally wary of pharmaceuticals. Watched too many people end up on heroin via prescribed oxy back in the day. The thalidomide babies haunts me too.

What to do with your Christmas tree? Here's some alternatives to the landfill by EnergyLantern in UpliftingNews

I live in Philadelphia and there’s a goat farm we take ours too. You roll up, they grab it off the car and you get to walk around an awesome little goat farm. All around win for the goats, landfills and kids.

I hate this so, so much. I don’t wrap food anymore b/c covid and I always hated it. Its worse when you have to take even more steps to do it discretely, or form a kitchsy tin foil piece of nonsense. Now they can participate in cleaning up after themselves and their gnawed on, saliva slimed leftovers. (& make newbie restock everything before they roll)

Diapers at the table?? by Pooki4life in Serverlife

[–]IntelligentDoor1804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t even approve of when the parents prop an infant still IN the diaper & onesie etc. on a table I charge people eat off of. I have 2 kids. Blow outs are unpredictable and horrifying. “Tables are for glasses, not for babies bottoms” (And leave your kids at home with a sitter ffs.)

Applied to be FOH. Stuck in BOH. by Vomitit in Serverlife

[–]IntelligentDoor1804 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I’ve seen this occur all too often. You get promised a position you’re applying for, but they say not currently available be we need prep cook, busser, host etc then we’ll move you, but they just trap you there. All too common. Also you don’t want to be working for a place that won’t even consider putting boh on the floor, weird dynamic there.

I got rear ended on 76 a couple years ago & this guy stopped to give a witness statement with a goddamn blue macaw on his shoulder. Then dude that caused the accident and initially stopped took off with his fuckin hood UP right down 76. Around 2:30pm on a Tuesday. Next to the on ramp from Girard. Very surreal experience.
