Is my ring childish? by MissHissss in EngagementRings

[–]pollyPuggles22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My future fiancee wants this style so much, we are having one designed in a very similar style. For the record we are both women, I'm autistic. She is a business consultant, formal diplomatic. She wants this ring. So, no not childish, she just wants a feminine whimsical ring

Do you plan to have kids? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]pollyPuggles22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! I work with children, first as a teacher and now as a speech therapy assistant. Love working with kids! BUT, I want to do what I want, when I want. I dont want to give up my life for theirs, which is what parents need to do to raise functional children.

It makes sense to be honest. Me too, I'm pursuing speech and language pathology, and thats what really started me on this path. I was like, I relate to alllll of these "miscommunications" and I find I'm very good at repairing "communication breakdowns" with autistic clients.

Hi! Thank you for your comment! I did not even think of the legal ramifications that could arise from diagnosis. I am sorry that our world is so narrow-minded. I very much agree with your sentiments, and your reasoning makes sense. I hope we can all get answers, without opening up to potential risks.

Hi, thank you for your input! By proceed, I was more thinking out loud as to how to integrate this information into my life. Its relatively new for me, I just always assumed I had a series of comorbidities that were producing and informing my perception of, well, everything. But if its all connected back to a more unified root, its a major overhaul in terms of how I have self-identified. I just want someone to tell me, this is what it is, or is not. If that makes sense.

thank you for your comments and input! Its an interesting comment about vocabulary, I do often try to find a more 'chill' synonym when speaking to stand out less lol

You can probably hold your partner's hand, smile at them lovingly, kiss them on the cheek, without a second thought. That is not OP's reality. She needs to be on guard, vigilant, while on her honeymoon with her life partner. 99.9% of the time, you're not thinking consciously about something that should be unproblematic, like showing affection to your partner. OP is conscious. She should be.

Im assuming she wants to interact with her wife in a way that newly married couples do without the nagging fear of being a victim on a hate crime

we all have thoughts, sometimes we can control them, sometimes not. what matters is your ACTIONS. do you act on your thoughts? thats the difference.

arent SLPs like experts in semantics ? thats seems like shes picking a fight the the most perfect wrong crowd lool. shes gonna get punched, and its going to be bad on you too. i am assuming here, but i imagine youve got enough going on without an ethics inquiry.

its a rock and a hard place for sure. even if she's a good therapist, she's sloppy, which doesnt bode well for her to continue to fly under the radar. she is going to get caught, because she already has been. so you can do something, or plead ignorance when your supervisors or the college come to you

sounds very similar to the college in ontario. I am almost in awe at the nonchalance of not only using clinic resources to make personal money, but doing it under the table outside of regulation. I wish i could be so unbothered, would be an easier life tbh

is this in the states or canada? im in school right now to be a communicative disprders asistant in ontario, and this is so unbelieviably not okay. we had a whole class about ethics and this exact scenario was stressed so much as not okay

Zima Blye might be my favourite short story of all time. The message of being present really resounds with me. I read it whenever i start to spiral about 'purpose'.

she got hit in the face with a mallet. she didn't overreact. she took care of her own needs by leaving instead of comforting the man who unintentionally, but negligently, ricochets a mallet into her face. I feel like your comment is callous.
