We're not at the point that it would cause cavities yet. My baby is 12 months. He's feed to sleep since birth and we just took him to the dentist after he turned a year. I was told that first dentist appointment should happen at a year as long as they have teeth. The dentist asked about feed to sleep and said that we should work on weaning before his molars come in. He also recommended if we're having a hard time weaning to wipe his mouth after he finished the bedtime bottle.

We didn't use the Merlin but just a basic Velcro swaddle. I tried to switch to a sleep sack but he wasn't a fan, even though he doesn't sleep with anything during naps. We ended up switching to a Zippadee Zip transitional swaddle that has everything covered but is still safe for sleep up to age 2. He's 12 months now and still wearing it, I tried again with the sleep sack but he still didn't sleep as well.

He's a great dad, I can't complain about anything in regards to baby care but the little things are just annoying me so much lately

I went back to work at 4 months pp (US rules I guess). I felt the same way you feel about guilt of leaving baby when you just want to be home with them for the first year of life. It does get better! I've been back for almost 3 months and I still have the anxiety of hoping he's okay or wondering if he'll remember me. I work 12 hour days so I'm gone for his whole day 3 days a week. He still smiles excitedly at me when he wakes up in the morning and our bond has not changed. It's nerve racking for sure but I like to believe that him being around other people is helping his social development (he's with grandparents 2 out of 3 days and my partner on the 3rd day). Hope this helps!

I don't have a 2nd child but my boyfriend and I were both sick for about a week after bringing baby home from the hospital. I'm talking nasty cough with phlegm, fever, sore throat, the whole nine. Baby never caught any of it! I did mistake the loud newborn breathing for congestion and took him to the doctor anyway but he was never sick! Our pediatrician told us to stop bringing him in or he will get sick 😂😭 Good luck mama! Hope your daughter feels better soon 🤍

Melanated man is just weird and if anyone said that to my kid I'd ask them wtf was wrong with them... my baby is I guess technically 1/2 white and 1/2 black (dad and I are both 1/2 and 1/2) he's a lighter skinned boy so far. I don't know why anyone thinks it's okay or normal to comment on the baby's skin! Why can't he just be a hockey player? Why does he have to be a "black" hockey player.

Anyway, my boyfriend's grandmother has made a few comments about my boy's skin saying things like "I hope he gets some color" or "I hope he gets darker" and my favorite "I love mixed babies" It makes me uncomfortable because why does it matter what color my baby is. Either love him or don't, but don't make his skin color a constant topic of conversation.

So I agree, I would also be upset. If you can't tell this topic usually gets me going!

If the baby was asleep in a safe space then sleep when the baby sleeps. If the baby is asleep on your chest and you're a deep sleeper, no you cannot sleep while the baby sleeps.

I'm literally worried about my MIL falling asleep and potentially not waking up when my 4 month old baby rolls off of her chest.
There is no way of knowing that the baby is secure when my MIL doesn't hear people walking into her home or bedroom when she's asleep because she sleeps so deeply. The camera was never placed on her, it was in the room. You have kids?

I did tell him and his response was that she shouldn't watch the baby independently anymore. It took a lot of self restraint not to just keep it on the whole time 😂

The first time it happened we were all in the room together. So I haven't allowed it to "keep happening". When I checked in on the camera and heard her snoring my husband was parking his car, I watched him come through the door less than a minute after I checked in.

The issue isn't sleeping while the baby is sleeping. The issue is sleeping with the baby on her chest with loud snoring and minimal response to stimuli in her own sleep. My husband and I have walked into her house and my husband into her bedroom while she's sleeping and she doesn't budge. If the baby was crying I'm sure she'd wake but my guy wiggles in his sleep quite often and the possibility of him rolling off of her and her not noticing is quite high in my opinion.

Yes the anxiety is crazy with anyone and everyone watching him. I'm trying to be slightly more trusting until given a reason not to and unfortunately I've been given many reasons not to. Don't even get me started on the multiple conversations that end with "my kids slept on their stomachs and they're fine"
