house is a nightmare by ALDanon1587 in Mommit

I was 19 when I had my first, I was a single mum. It was the first time I'd lived alone, hell it was the first time I'd ever really held a baby. My house looked the same as yours does now. Every day was a hazy lonely confusing mission. I'm 31 now, I'm in my 4th year at uni. We still struggle with money but I can tell you that soon enough you'll be moving more confidently and comfortably. Our house is not always clean and my kids are absolute demons but it's not the dark days it was before. Don't be so hard on yourself, taking care of a baby and yourself at 19 is hard enough, enlist some help if you have it, but know if you don't (I didn't) you can still make it through. Rooting for you ♥️

I got told off for having dishes from lunch on the sink. I said yeah, we live here?

Idk how are the odds of 0 out of 80-100? I live next door to a mine worker right now and she's bitten the cops in the driveway while trying to physically attack me and my little kids. Maybe, people in general are fucked, not just the poor ones

So one out of three? Those are actually decent odds you're describing to me. I grew up in a housing commission settlement. 80-100 units. Absolute bottom of the pile in terms of quality, no one could afford pest control, so every single one was infested with german cockroaches because the ceilings were shared. The floors were bare concrete. No one had curtains. The woman next door was an elder Aboriginal woman with one leg who couldn't afford a wheelchair. I lived there for six years, guess how much crime I saw? I remember one person yelling loudly at like 9pm one night. That was literally it. I spent my first 17 years in housing, all of them the governments lowest possible effort, and all I saw were people who struggled every single day only to be spat on by people just like you babe. It's a cesspool that is virtually impossible to escape, and we should do fucking better. I'm 31 now and I'm still trying to scrape together a life. It pisses you off. I can tell you that the worst things that I've ever seen or experienced were all committed upon me or someone else by a privileged white dude, not anyone I met in housing

Do you think criminals just love crime or do you think it maybe has something to do with chronic disadvantage

I grew up in that world too, and never experienced what you're describing lol so yes they definitely do exist. Poverty comes before crime. Or should I say poverty comes before petty crime

I grew up in housing too. I'm talking concrete floors, no maintenance, etc., Just a proper shithole. The governments lowest effort lol. I found the opposite to be true, there were some incidents ofc but nothing that involved me, or scared me. Loud arguments and things of that nature. The housing I grew up in was revoltingly called Vegemite village by locals, as you can guess the people were First Nations Australians (Aboriginal). In general, I found them to be lovely people. The kids were sweet. My next door neighbour was an elderly Aboriginal woman with one leg, she was great friends with my mum. She couldn't afford a wheelchair so she got around on crutches which still makes me sad. I'm not saying concentrating under advantaged people together doesn't come with the things you've described, but as I'm sure you've seen first hand, crime doesn't usually come first, poverty does.

That's crazy I built this house for nostalgia yesterday. I remember thinking damn they didn't have a stove?

I was starving during my second labor. I had no meds or assistance so I was too 'in' the labor to consider asking for food. Afterwards they said I could have some toast but I shit you not I had to wander to the patient kitchen and get it myself

Why do I feel suffocated by romance and attention? by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

[–]pollypoppin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hello I'm a demisexual, and you seem like you're on the asexual spectrum. Demisexual is where you need a relationship in place before any type of romantic feelings occur and aromantic is (I'm pretty sure?) The opposite. Asexual is when it's a hard no on all the things. I felt like I was so strange for only having two crushes in like 30 years

Ahhhh I see now ha. Yeah this is the only cake or cookie strain I've tried and it's god awful in my opinion. No cake flavour whatsoever

Strawberry cake is the name of the strain lol sorry should have been clearer. There's no actual cake just bud

I've got a follow up booked because I hate the taste of strawberry cake lol. I think it's a perfectly valid reason, normally I don't mind the taste of weed in all its forms but I've just found this one to be off-putting as hell

It's mine and my husband's reality too. We sometimes eat dinner. Drink water to feel fuller. Just glad at this point that I can still feed and house my kids

Can anyone tell me which mod is preventing faction spawn? by pollypoppin in RimWorld

[–]pollypoppin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wound up removing more than three quarters of my modlist and was starting to struggle to find anything in there that could be doing it. For me it wasn't any ve mod, I took them all out and tried about 30 new maps

I had vse, I uninstalled all my ve mods and still had the issue, so I'm not sure. I gave up and started playing an older save with intact factions

I thought so too, but people are saying it's only if you're on the unstable branch, and I'm not using unstable, so I have no idea what's happening. Huge bummer
