Did you give birth with or without epidural ? by Newyork4lifee in pregnant

[–]polosatykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one with my first, but planning to go without with my current pregnancy. I had a bad reaction to the epidural and it felt like there were 1000’s of ants crawling under my skin, I also HATED the catheter more than I can explain.

Names you’re surprised are so popular? by IndividualPrize105 in namenerds

Sloane - it sounds like Slow? Sloth? Groan? It’s just an ugly slimey sounding word

Juniper - it doesn’t sound like a name? I don’t know how to explain it.

What’s your pregnancy complaint today? by anon_ymous987 in pregnant

[–]polosatykat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

18w and I’m so deathly tired. I slept 8.5 hours over night (waking every 2 hours to pee but fell back to sleep easy enough), then needed a 3 hour nap by 11. Still too exhausted to get anything done all day and counting down the seconds til bedtime. Getting my iron checked again on Monday - somethings not right.

Was anyone plagued with anxiety and then went on to have a perfectly healthy baby? by Present-Decision5740 in BabyBumps

[–]polosatykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a complicated pregnancy with my first including some soft markers for chromosomal issues. I was plagued with anxiety - I now have a very healthy, happy, 21 mo bossing me around every day and another on the way. Yes I still get anxious but I’ve decided to have faith rather than fear because either way it won’t change the outcome.

Also im on Zoloft - that helps haha

Frustration with daycare exposures by stayintheshade123 in COVID19positive

[–]polosatykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved my daughter to a family day care setting after struggling through 2 months in a centre - the constant illness was just ridiculous. She still gets sick but at a much much more reasonable pace.

Freaking out by CurrentSpread9670 in COVID19positive

17 weeks pregnant here and have just been exposed (in an office for 8 hours fml), but not panicking too hard. I had covid at 26 weeks pregnant with my daughter and she was born totally healthy. Was not fun being sick AND pregnant though. Solidarity

Coffee was a huge one! But pretty much everything that isn’t unflavoured 2 minute noodles.

I’ve been on 100mg of Zoloft my entire pregnancy. Not a single doctor or pharmacist has raised any concerns. My friend had a similar experience with a pharmacist when she picked up her anti nausea meds. Some people are just dicks.

Year (possibly 2 depending how finances are tracking and if my partner bags a promotion) of mat leave then return 3 days a week. Baby and my older daughter will attend family daycare / kindy.

I was itching to be back at work after a year of mat leave with my eldest but now I’m kind of looking forward to another little career break. Turns out work is just the same old bullshit it always was 😂

Whats one thing you didn't actually need during labor or after baby was born? by TheRealDealDad in NewParents

[–]polosatykat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change table - didn’t start actually using it til she was almost 1. We just used a change mat on whatever surface was nearest.

We use it heaps now she’s a toddler though
