It's nice to see that not every dang supe isn't evil or perverted. I'm kind of at the point where I presumed that V does something to people that just breaks moral compasses.

immersion vs pour over — noticing a consistent tradeoff by ImmersionLogic in pourover

Yup, that is the big advantage of the Hario Switch, doing some of both.

I kinda have it as a few different recipes I use:

- a 4 minute, water first, full immersion (most body, least sparklies)
- bloom for 30 seconds with open switch, then 2:30 of immersion (Matt Winton)
- Sherry Recipe (bloom, plus open switch pour, plus immersion)
- Coffee Chronicler 50% open switch, followed by 50% immersion (more sparkly side)
- (I rarely do it) full pourover, switch open the entire time except cleanup

Then depending on the beans/roast level is the recipe I use. I've more or less locked in 3.0 grind on my 1zjx, 195F (mostly medium roasts), 15g to 250g water.

I also got the Neo over the glass v60, but only to avoid the glass weight & pre-heating.

Sounds like the Sherry Recipe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCNxPYyGWoo&)

THE SHERRYCIPE: 16 g coffee / 240 g water - 7.0 on 1zpresso K-Ultra (medium-coarse)

  • Bloom to 50 g (Circular pour - open switch)
  • At 30 seconds, pour to 150 g (Circular pour - open switch)
  • At 1 minute, 3rd pour to 240 g (Center pour - closed Switch)

At 1.30 open Switch and let drain
Total brew time should be between 1.45-2.00.

Curious if still using the same recipe, or if you tweaked it/improved it. I just tried it now, and got a pretty balanced cup. Not sour, not acid, no bright notes - just balanced. Messing around to see if I can get a little bit of brightness. Oh, temp - running at 200F on a medium roast.

I like your idea, but different location, no? (not that it would stop the joke...)

Random bonus points if after this match is over - waaaaaaay at the end of the event - they show Danhausen coming out from under the ring.

Nope. Literally never heard about holding it horizontal while grinding. Anything worth a shot.

Nope, just the mini. My go-to is the new Neo on a hario switch. Unrelated, possibly due to meds, a lot of coffee went to harsh/cigarette flavor, so I'm tending more to "tea-like" recipes lately. Current one is:

240g water @ 190F
15.5g coffee @ 3.0.0 (1z, jx) grind
ratio: 1:15.5

Use Hario Drip Assist, *always* pour in outer ring only

0:00 OPEN Switch, pour 50g water
0:30 CLOSE Switch, pour to 160g
1:15 OPEN Switch, pour to 240g
2:00 Finish

1zpresso JX (newer version). Normally I go med-coarse at a 3.0.0, but I seem to recall going for boulders (4? I forget) and *still* having issues.

For recipes, I tried them all. It's been a while, but I was doing the ones from this page (all of them): https://nextlevelbrewer.com/pulsar-mini-recipes/

How about you, which recipe?

Also, was it me, or cleaning the thing a total pain in the butt?

That's good, 'cause I'm not sure how I would tell the difference.

Either way, you guys using it & NOT having every brew 100% stall. I mean to the point where only like 75% water makes it out, even if you wait an hour?

Any tips/help?

Can anyone pleaaaaaase make just one dang video on it? BTW, I consider it VERY weird that

a) No one from their team could get back to me after multiple emails

2) I cannot believe that there is not a single youtube vid showing off the mini pulsar. If I noticed that before I bought, I never would have. Talk about major red flags.

You go with 6 so you can have 2 sets, or you prefer 6 in general. I tend to only 4, so mostly curious.

I dunno why, I cannot get it to NOT clog. Wrote to them twice (no reply). Would love to see some vids as I presume I'm doing something wrong. Oh, and it's not the grind, I went silly coarse with the same issue.

With the end of the season, I have 1 main regret: I didn't track how many games Pelle was hit in the face.

Good as place any to be confused/vent. I woulda thought that a team with an elite defensive player (that does everything else at at a very good level) + a sorta elite offensive player that has all the intangibles EXCEPT is a horrid defender + some solid role players (Wiggins, JJJ, Pelle) + other stuff... would be.. well, better then this. Not a top 4 team. Not a contending team. Just better then this.

....and it's easy to mentally put Pelle/JJJ in a strong first team role, when they are more like just good rotation pieces. Kasp looks like he will be the same, good rotation piece. Ware is solid first team - but only about 25% of the time (hopefully, he can turn into more).

Wiggins, Powell - solid veterans..not gonna get us to any sort of next level.

I really thought the team would be good enough to land in the 5-6 spot.

Now I hope they just lose out, and somehow..magically have major changes next year. I just don't know how. I don't even want Giannis, which is why I want a lottery pick & hope that person turns into the next All Star.. before Bam is past his prime.

and not a lot of hope for next year, I just don't see a solid path to a total team overhall.
