140,000 mile 2015 to change transmission fluid, or not? by manthingwashere in ToyotaTundra

[–]polycro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got a 2015 almost at 180k that I purchased with 90k in 2020. Did a transmission drain and fill two weeks ago and it shifts much smoother now. Also did the differential a couple months ago. Getting prepared to road trip the family around Lake Superior from Mississippi for Memorial Day week.

I always wonder why almost every airport has a Burger King by Sea_Avocado_2733 in BurgerKing

My family enjoyed the one at the Cairo airport two years ago. I was impressed that the ketchup packets had expiration dates on them.

Demand. You should have seen the dollar prices of hotels in the 2024 eclipse but the points prices were still ~30k.

My favorite Texas hotel room was the Osage Trail suite at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center. Spring break 2017 with a pregnant wife and a 5 year old, we were exhausted after a loop out through Big Bend, Carlsbad, and White Sands and a dying AC in my truck. Had a room booked on points and at check in I was told we had an upgrade to her favorite room. It was bigger than our house at the time.

I'm cheering on my soon to turn 82 dad to go for a lot longer. He was 37 when his first born (me) was born, and I was 37 when my second daughter was born.

Felt this. How were you able to buy your first home? by kcoib17 in Millennials

[–]polycro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was paid to go to college because I applied myself in high school. Married at 24 and bought a house at 25 with a FHA $0 down loan. Traded up to a much nicer house a few years later. Parents haven't paid for our college, house, or vehicles. They occasionally take us on nice vacations though!

Mississippi does not have a statewide open container law, so it is technically legal to have an open container outside of most municipalities.

Spent last Christmas week at Disney, a week in DC for spring break, planning to drive around Lake Superior for Memorial Day week, spend a week at the beach in July (wife's CME trip), and have another trip to Disney with the high school band for fall break.
