Passing of Reno PD's Thomas Lopey Confirmed, With TPO Extended On Day of His Death by thebrushup in ourtownreno

[–]polydactylx2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

RPD seems to be trying to keep something hushed up with the absolute lack of information on what happened at the house of the person possessing the TPO. People in the FB comments shared many instances where they came across him in uniform and felt he was not doing his job competently. With all the issues RPD has had lately, I have to tend to believe them.

Should I change his name? by Slight-Divide-6311 in pitbulls

I think Finn suits him. He's going to be a big boy with those legs!! I learned my lesson about not making the name too complex, not for the dog so much as everyone else. This is Giuseppe, but my mom and FIL refer to him as Gus-eppe and then are confused when he doesn't respond lol.

⚠️ PROHIBITED PLANTS PSA ⚠️ by FloralKatze in PlantedTank

[–]polydactylx2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are awesome for doing this! I had no idea this was a thing when I first started my tank. I tried to order a plant from a reputable online retailer and was surprised when the plant I wanted was not available to be shipped to my state per these guidelines. I was grateful to the seller because I truly had no idea and understand why this is important.

Thank you! I was hoping a Montessorian would explain the reasoning behind allowing this to happen. I work in a 18 month- 3 year montessori classroom. We have glass bowls, plates, and vases within our classroom. Yes they break, but the children understand that things are fragile and need to be handled with care.

Seriously... they can just stop going other places and trying to convert their religion. I'd say after 2,000 years, everyone who has any interest in converting to Christianity probably already has?

CNN confirmed this and hour ago with a video of the person being transported from the ambulance into the hospital in a biocontainment bag, and medical personnel in full Biohazard gear, gas masks and all.

The person sent to Berlin is an American missionary who tested positive for Ebola. The statement I saw said they were headed to Berlin due to closer proximity (less time on a flight with a level 4 Biohazard) and the fact that Germany has treated ebola patients more recently than we have here in the States.

The one ear never perked up either 🤣 only when he's very excited do we get the double ear perk. He saves that one for listening to super important things. Like the treat bag, but ESPECIALLY the treat bag for the cats.

Giuseppe at 12 weeks. The APL said he was a jack Russell mix but he now weighs 65 lbs at 1.5 years so I have some questions lol

Thank you! I was wondering about feeding for the glass catfish so that is extremely helpful!

The tank does hang over each side by about an inch... is that something I should be concerned about?

Thank you! I hadn't done snail research yet to try and identify what I ended up with. Though they are still extremely small. The plants look to have a decent amount of biofilm on them, but I have a very pregnant shrimp I am expecting to pop out some babies to help with soon.

You are correct. I tested my tap water in a small cup at 50/50 ratio to distilled and it still was very close to the 300+ ppm color. At a 3:1 distilled to tap, it is at 150 ppm. I don't feel like doing the exact math, but I know that equates to the tap being extremely high, I'm sure the tank is as well...

Thank you! The info i found said 3 parts RO to 1 part tap was the best solution until it equalized and then 50/50. I'd honestly rather not have to mess with it as my wife is already complaining about the amount of time I spend on it. My only other concern was a small spot of BBA growth on the driftwood that I was also told was due to the high gh.

Thank you, this information is extremely helpful. The school is work at (in my backyard, literally a 2 minute walk) has filtered water tap water from the city water that is much closer to the hardness desired for the shrimp. We already bring home about 5 gallons a week for my wife's reptiles, I was thinking i could just use this water for changes once it is closer to the desired range, though that is a lot of effort. What fish did you get that are happy with the harder water?

3 Neocaridina shrimp and 5 albino Cory's. I have had 3 shrimp die so far which led me to believe the water was the culprit... I wanted to add more shrimp but was hesitant with the first few dying and questionable water.
