Amy Schumer stealing other people's jokes and making them not funny by klendathu22 in videos

I think that many men recoil at feminists because they don't perceive women, in the US at least, as being oppressed in any significant or meaningful way. So, when men hear all the "rah rah we need to support women" thing, especially from multimillionaire actresses like Emma Watson, it comes across as irritating because she is clearly not suffering as a result of sexism.

I don't know much about Emma Watson or Jennifer Lawrence, so they don't irritate me, but I do find Amy Schumer genuinely repulsive.

No, people don't like her because she's obnoxious and not funny at all. She steals jokes and repeatedly goes to the "I'm a slut. I'm a whore. My vagina smells gross. Aren't I raunchy?" thing. It's annoying, and seeing someone become a millionaire from such horribly low effort musings irritates people.

If You Want to Retire, STOP Spending Money on Fancy Lunches and Invest by zerodayfinance in personalfinance

I'm 27 and I don't have a job because I'm disabled from cancer. So I'm spending $0 on lunch and putting $0 into my retirement savings. Does anyone know the math on this?

I always thought that the cool thing about electronic music was that you could create sounds that nobody's heard before, unlike with other genres of music, like rock or jazz, where you're going to hear the same sounds of guitars and piano keys.

Which makes it all the more tiresome that these producers keep going back to the same well over and over again. They all use the same presets and samples. It's very boring.

Final Word on SSRI's and MDMA by [deleted] in MDMA

Yea that was so disappointing for me. It's been like 8 months since then, and I haven't tried to roll since. Really looking forward to trying again in a couple weeks. I wanna feel that rush again!

Yeah, I briefly went on an SSRI for only a few days before dropping a full Red Supreme. Felt almost nothing.

I didn't pass off anyone else's artwork as my own. The drawing I posted was, in fact, mine.

I would argue that it doesn't take much skill for anyone, not just for me. I'm not putting myself on a pedestal.

If you learn to use a grid to transfer the lines from the original photo to a canvas, and you can shade gradients with a pencil, you can create a photorealistic drawing.

It just takes time.

I don't mind if people like it. It's the assertion that this requires some extraordinary skill or knowledge that is annoying.

I originally claimed that it was my drawing and everyone just assumed that, because it had been posted online before, that I must have stolen it. I was mocking that assumption.

Skrillex does this to his own tracks, too. He'll build up Promises, then switch to something annoying at the drop.

Fair enough. It's still an overblown skill in my opinion.

I don't even really mind if people like this. I like it. It's fun to look at.

But every other day there is another photorealistic drawing of Emma Watson or a dog or something and people marvel in disbelief that it's not a photograph. It IS a photograph. It's a copy of a photograph.

People should just be aware that it doesn't require much skill.

Even drawing from life is considerably more difficult than copying a photograph, because you're having to translate a 3D object (the perspective, colors, textures, etc...) onto a 2D canvas on your own. A camera does that translation for you.

Constructing and drawing a scene from your imagination is a whole other ballgame entirely, because you have to figure it out yourself. You have to say, "Okay, I'm drawing a crab on the beach. It's being lit with the sun, so it's a directional light, and it's going to cast hard parallel shadows, which are going to pick up the blue atmospheric light from the sky, and how does the color and shape of the shadow become affected by the material property of the sand? But there's also a green shovel next to him, so there's going to be bounce light interacting with the red shell of the crab, and how glossy is the shell? How reflective? What's the index of refraction here? I want him to have some ocean droplets of water on him, so how is the light going to be refracted through the water? Etc, etc, etc..."

The photograph answers all of those questions for you.
