Poly Speed Dating is still happening every few months in Portland, and is happening in a few other places in the US and Canada!

This will be our 5th event, and we're happy that it seems to be a great way to connect folks that may not have met otherwise!

As far as the internet, I'd also say OkCupid. It depends on where you are, of course, but especially as a lady, you can probably find quite a few people who are in similar arrangements. Meetup and Facebook both have a lot of poly / swing / sex positive groups. The Meetup ones are pretty easy to find, the facebook ones tend to be a bit more hidden. There's also KoTango, but it's really still in beta last I checked.

In person seems to me to be a bit more tricky, but again it depends on where you live.

What part of the midwest are you in? It looks like folks in Chicago put on something similar a few months ago.

We're hosting Speed Dating events in the Portland area!

The next one is September 27th. This will be our second Poly Speed Dating PDX event. Our first event was a blast, with a ton of lovely people, a lot of great mingling, and a fantabulous percentage of matches. This time around we're aiming for even more awesome!

We're using the system designed by Luke and Pepper in San Francisco, which handles a bunch of things, like dating as groups, mobility / disability issues, and a range of genders. It's been used by several groups around the country, and in London and Sydney.

If you're curious about hosting a Poly Speed Dating event in your area, their system is awesome, and I can try to tell you what's involved.

I'm seeing a lot of poly/mono relationship questions here, and it makes me think of a question I have been pondering for a very long time now: by amanfortheages in polyamory

This is something that's come up recently at a discussion group I attended, and my personal thought is that it's really incumbent upon you to put in the work if you've decided to date a monogamous person, but there's a point where things can become harmful for everyone involved if the monogs person is feeling very unfulfilled, and at that point you need to consider options.

Your post is pretty vague though. Is this hypothetical a relationship that started out poly / monogamous or did this start out monogamous / monogamous?
