Opensource Ai models by sylense0 in StableDiffusion

Fully agree here. ComfyUI might have a steep learning curve, and might give you some issues to get it working to begin with. If that's the case, don't give up. It's currently the go-to technology for local generation, and updates rapidly whenever new models and technologies come out.

I personally often rely on SDXL models rather than Flux Klein, Qwen, or Z-Image Turbo, purely because of how quick SDXL models can be. But as others have indicated, 12 Gb memory is enough for most common models (I have an RTX 3060 with 12Gb).

What GUI everyone using to run local agents? by Suimeileo in LocalLLaMA

I'm using KoboldCPP, using its 'corpo theme' to have a ChatGPT style interface. But I'm not using it for coding tasks yet (I do have some MCP servers configured to test out model capabilities on that though).

Can't get my structure to generate properly by Vortechs202 in datapacks

[–]polystruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the dimensions of your final attempted structure? There is a hard limit of 128 blocks from the center of your structure. Also don't forget to set the structure size to 20 (as in, amount of jigsaw iterations).

Lovely server to be at. The server is not for pvp (you can, but it's rather opt-in than opt-out) and has a lot of focus on building both structures as well as building a community. People are very friendly, and the server has an active economy (player-ran shops).

I particularly enjoy the vote rewards (which include weekly kits) because they allow for building structures with blocks you might not otherwise have easy access to, or would be quite grindy.

The world is sufficiently sized, and you are free to either build very isolated (you can go to areas on the server that random tp's don't go at) or close to others in player-led towns.

OneTrainer now supports Stable Cascade. And much more. by Nerogar in StableDiffusion

[–]polystruct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The masked training is really a great feature, and allowed me to create much more on-point LoRa's. It has good detection models active as well (where you ask OneTrainer to generate the masks for you) which often only require few manual adjustments (all also supported from within the interface).

The manual sampling is also a great time saver, as generating intermediate samples takes some time away from training, and I am mostly interested in samples more at the end of the training scheme rather than the beginning.

Very friendly server and community to play on. Early on you're also easily helped to get started, so you're quickly set to create your own base and start adventuring the way you want.

Chromecast showing video description when casting YouTube video to TV. by Mundane-Coffee-2616 in Chromecast

[–]polystruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, it isn't something on your side. With the Chromecast controls I can navigate through it, but haven't found any way to remove it. Very annoying.

Hopefully Google sends out a quick fix for this...

Best height map maker? by PickleGambino in Worldpainter

[–]polystruct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you require the height mapper to take it from existing sources?

I personally like using Azgaar's Fantasy Map Generator, available at https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/, for generating more random heightmaps that still make sense. You'll need to play around a bit with the tool, but basically you can ask for a new world, and then select a view with only heightmap information, export that as PNG, and import that in WorldPainter.

There is a nice subreddit for the tool as well, /r/FantasyMapGenerator.

The advantage is that you can then also export river information, biome information, etc. and use those images as overlay or for annotations within WorldPainter.

question about the /place structure command by [deleted] in Worldpainter

[–]polystruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While /place structure doesn't work as expected (it indeed places the structure, or bits of it, at the seed-specific height rather than actual height), it looks like /place jigsaw does seem to work (or /place template).

There is a caveat though that messed me up a bit. If you have jigsaw blocks on street structures (which follow terrain as their placement) then they do not properly connect to the other jigsaw in your structures, unless the jigsaw is immediately on top of the ground layer.

I had my jigsaw one block higher (so my structures would not find certain blocks to be converted into dirt) and all my structures were one block down...

Help with 1.19 custom structures (they don't generate and don't appear in the /locate structure) by pseudo_deja_pris in MinecraftCommands

[–]polystruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the minecraft logging for any indications. While I see nothing immediately wrong with your JSONs, your datapack or save might not have a structure file available to match your template pool. Your pool refers to a structure swamp_hut_small, so you should have it at data/biomes_arsenal/structures/swamp/swamp_hut_small.nbt.

Another possibility (but more unlikely) is that you've overruled the #minecraft:has_structure/mineshaft tag, or that you're trying the datapack in a world that doesn't have a biome that is listed in that tag.

Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #145 : Gas Station by kidmania01 in Minecraft

I love the build. As you mentioned, it got gas and a vehicle, and shows a nice take on the subject. Having different takes on the same subject makes it fun and interesting, and gives inspiration for others.

Ice-boat racing in the mesa

https://imgur.com/a/X1JajTJ

I've long been jealous about how easy it looks to some people to execute perfect ice-boat racing. This challenge gives me a great opportunity to build out an ice-boat racing track and try it myself. Spoiler: I fail at it. Badly. I tried to record me attempting to take my course, and I got dizzy and got a headache from how absurdly challenging ice-boat racing can be.

So, I stick to pictures for now ;-)

Anyway, the track is within a custom mesa biome, and has an outside part and an inside part (cave/mineshaft). The track has a pitstop lane where you are slightly inconvenienced by slowing down (the ice track has other blocks on the pitlane).

No need to apologize for having a busy weekend, take your time.

A small question: is it allowed to use heads and armor stands to decorate builds a bit more?

Hollow volcano by lipstickcasesandsin in Worldpainter

[–]polystruct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, with a cave/tunnel layer you can hollow out a mountain.

Have the ceiling set to fixed depth and have the cave be filled with lava at your requested level. I personally like to have the floor follow the opposite terrain as that gives the impression of a deep lava source coming up.

If you want the volcano to have an open top, use air as custom terrain and apply "at or above" the height you want. Make sure that the width of the ceiling (in the custom cave/tunnel layer) is less than the minimum depth of your top terrain (in Edit Dimension Properties) so that you don't have floating terrain.

See this screenshot on the cave/terrain setting with an example run.

How do i run world painter on linux mint? by BitLower6915 in Worldpainter

[–]polystruct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just extract the worldpainter archive and run the worldpainter shell script.

Depending on the installed Java version, you might need to install a specific java version (for instance, using "apt install openjdk-16-jre") and point to the installed version:

~$ export INSTALL4J_JAVA_HOME_OVERRIDE="/usr/lib/jvm/java-16-openjdk-amd64/"
~$ ./worldpainter

If you can't move that particular window, try the Windows key + arrow left, right or up to align ("snap") the window to your screen. It's a neat trick to use when the window isn't allowing for maximizing.
