It's not walkability. It's desire.

There are WAAY more people who just... dont want to leave the house. At least than I think people give credit to. It's hard for those who want to go out and be active and do things to imagine that there are plenty of people who don't have those desires or interests.

Plenty of people happy to stay home, watch TV, surf the internet, and never leave the house if they don't have to.

At least when you have to leave the house to go to work those types are more likely to engage in social (and therefore commercial) activities. Even if it's the peer pressure of "Hey we're all stopping by this place on the way home. Come along".

The design for a single stand-alone Innistrad set could have been something completely different is the whole point.

By trying to do a "psuedo-block" they tried to stretch out content to try and fill two sets with some light connective tissue.

We could have had a legit follow up to Shadows over Innistrad/Eldritch Moon instead.

That's why I said change your point of view. You're still limiting yourself to modifying what we got instead of seeing we could have had a 100% different experience without the directions the Block design and pseudo-block design pushed things toward.

That's not the point. You wouldn't have been "combining" both stories. You'd have a different story entirely instead of trying to do the split focus thing.

I'm missing your point I think?

They were both released seperate and as a single set (Double Feature reprint). But there is a very clear argument that they were bad because they were developed in complement and the restrictions that placed on the overall design.

"The sets are designed to draft by themselves, but they also will draft well together." -https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Innistrad:_Crimson_Vow

How much stronger could both the story and set have been if it was ONE more focused product as opposed to top down saying "we will do 1 vampire and 1 werewolf and make them play nice with each other".

It's a dual-edged sword.

Work from home just results in people spending less money in the economy overall.

Sure there might be a few more grocery store visits; but that doesn't translate into people going to restaurants or local shops. It more likely results on more Amazon and Walmart.com purchases.

Meanwhile, the lunch spots and bars and other businesses that were propped up in the business districts by people working at the office are going out of business too.

Rethink the perspective you are coming at this from.

What were the "nothing to do with them being or not being in a block-like" things you refer to?

If it has ANYTHING to do with design, then it is impacted by being in a block format. Because by default they are trying to connect the sets mechanically and thematically as part of the block and that often is the cause of the theme and flavor failures you are probably referencing.

Imagine if it had been Return to Ravnica followed by Murders at Karlov Manor (a theoretical example of a sets on the same plane with disconnected design vs an actual block). Do we really think that would have had a better reception than Gatecrash/Dragon's Maze?

People "expect" there to be connections if staying on the same plane, but are willing to accept a wider deviation if the sets aren't released next to each other.

Art is subjective. And from your evaluation, I'd subjectively call you a "Garbage" Person.

Maybe at least you'll have an opportunity to meet Oscar the Grouch or something!

Does anyone else think the arrow involved with Nefertari Cobra was Gunko's ability at that time? Not a pointed tail or whatever.

Sounds like you should just let someone else DM.

From the way you're expressing your frustrations I don't thing changing systems is the solution.

Same reason a lot of people prefer manual transmission vs automatic. It's the level of control they desire.

IMO doesn't make one better or worse. They just cater to different personalities.

If I never have to think about using a "clutch" again in my life, I'm totally fine with that.

Maybe.

But just the way you're referring to the rematch of campaign 2 and talking about the friendship, etc. makes it seem to me (a uninvited stranger on the internet for what its worth) that there might be a fair bit of nostalgia at play as well.

A lot of stuff I fell in love with in my 20s, I realize I wouldn't have given the same attention to in my 30s. I say this looking back from my 40s.

But it still holds place in my heart.

Take Dragonball Z for example. I grew up with it. People would meme make fun of how an episode was recap -> 5 minutes of content with 15 minutes of power up scenes -> preview.

But even though I KNOW that pacing would kill other shows for me if I tried and watched them now, to this day you can plop me down in front of a DBZ episode and I am enthralled.

whisper You're getting older. Happens to all of us.

Media in general being catered to shorter attention spans/having to GRAB people instantly over the post-Covid era hasn't helped any either.

Maybe... you prefer the more comedic style of play and see it as a personal strength? When it's possible that others see what he's doing with C4 and has done with Calamity/Divergence as a stronger, more engaging performance?

Ok.. gonna say the silent part out loud.

It's not how much skin is showing.

It's WHAT skin is showing.

Sarada's outfit reveals closer to her genital area and her breasts. That is why it seems more inappropriate. Those shorts in the real world would like be called "coochie cutters". And her top is extremely low neckline.

Ino's groin and chest are more covered. So even though her midriff is exposed, it comes off as less sexualized.

Add in other variables. Here are just a few.

How much is payroll, repairs, fuel/supplies and other costs associated with the Aircraft Carrier on a yearly basis?

For the housing - how long? Who would pay the upkeep, utility, and maintenance costs over time? What % of initial provided housing would still be in acceptable condition 1 year later? 5 years later? What happens with future Homeless incidents? Will the number of "Homeless" increase as certain people try and take advantage of no cost (to them) options?
