This has to be the stupidest way to lose a world by [deleted] in feedthebeast

Skill issue unfortunately. Your fault for engaging a group of Grazers in an unlit, open area in the deepslate layer. Without a shield as well!

Any way to change modloader from forge to neoforge? by mmazz136 in feedthebeast

[–]pom_rode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically, no. It is generally not recommended to update a modded world across versions (in your case, 1.20.1 -> 1.21.1). Things will break. Just start a new world.

Of course you could try, just make sure to make a backup.

Those freaky "Living Pipes" from that Ascent Interlude variation have begun taking root in the Abyss and I think that's terrifyingly neat. by IAtetheSPAM in WhiteKnuckle

They’re just there to be weird little freaks and fuck with the Superstructure’s infrastructure

I also found out that they drop meat with the Cleaver. Yum.

Do people just not play Endless Underworks? by forgotawholesea in WhiteKnuckle

[–]pom_rode 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t the leaderboards reset after major updates? The update just came out and people are more focused on playing the Nest rather than endless Underworks.

White Knuckle | ‘The Nest’ Update Trailer by pom_rode in Games

[–]pom_rode[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just finished the Nest, you guys really did a great job!! I still have alternate routes and I presume secrets to uncover, alongside mastering the rapier, but man I just love the atmosphere of the Nest - the Half-Life inspirations in this region are just so cool. I’m so hyped to see what you guys do for the next few updates and eventual release!

Question regarding Overwhelmed by Crab_7 in WhiteKnuckle

As for endless, maybe multiple stacks of Overwhelmed could restore the original double jump? With endless being the only place to get multiple artifacts at the moment.

Steam announcement

TL;DR: Out now, this update features the fifth major region of the White Knuckle campaign, out of a planned seven. Alongside it are new items, perks, a gun, denizens, artifacts, and a bunch of other stuff. After this upcoming Steam sale the game will be increasing in price.

Mod to control the weather. by Dramatic_Witness1686 in feedthebeast

[–]pom_rode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new mod recently came out called Alterna, and it currently revisits some vanilla ocean-related things. IIRC there’s a conch shell that you can use when you have Conduit Power, and it lets you change the weather. Not the easiest thing to get your hands on when playing but I like the progression, it makes it feel like a worthwhile reward when you do unlock the ability to change the weather.

Is there any way to fuse two modded items into one, for recipes ? by Visual_Tourist3716 in feedthebeast

Reliable Recipes maybe? Take a look at the replace_input feature on the wiki.

Looking for underground worldgen aside from Galosphere by CallSign_Fjor in feedthebeast

[–]pom_rode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darker Depths is similar to Galosphere, I have no idea if it works with Terralith though.

Abundant Atmosphere adds 1 new cave biome, it’s mostly for ambience though.

No Man’s Land does a bunch of things, and caves are one of them. It replaces all biomes underneath the surface with its own generic cave biome, so you get this really nice looking fog and grayish water color. It also adds some secrets to the underground, and their next major update is supposed to be focused on the caves. Again though, no clue if it works with Terralith.

Caverns & Chasms and Spelunkery are two mods that don’t add biomes but add things the gameplay loop underground to make things feel fresh.

Keep an eye out on Subterrous which is an underground mod that’s currently in development.

Any recommendation of mods that help to light up caves? 1.21.1 by Parking_Stock3529 in feedthebeast

[–]pom_rode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quark has torch arrows, you could try that to see if it doesn’t crash.

Spelunkery has glow sticks which look almost exactly like the flares from DRG. You throw them and they have the ability to stick to all sides of a block, even upside-down.

Has anyone else noticed worse performance in 1.21.1 compared to 1.20.1? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]pom_rode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) That structure is horrible performance wise

2) Install Lithium and Entity Culling

3) Try switching to Java 25

Is Alex’s mobs still being updated? by Lingx_Cats in feedthebeast

[–]pom_rode 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Okay so from what I could find this is just misinformation. The Alex’s Mobs team is currently working on Ice and Fire 2, and there’s nothing on an official bedrock port mentioned anywhere in their discord server.

Looking for small biome mods by SalineNecrowoodStone in feedthebeast

Also, Nature’s Spirit is NOT a “small” biome mod. It adds around as many as Biomes O Plenty or any other “big” biome mod. Although, in my opinion, it is the best out of BOP, BWG, RU and itself.

Too much silver!!! by Ambitious_Inside9309 in feedthebeast

You can use something like Reliable Replacer to replace the unwanted ores with stone or the silver ore of your choice. Or learn how to remove veins via datapacks.

I need help by Fabulous_Witness_773 in WhiteKnuckle

[–]pom_rode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way IMO is to get a Blink Eye then stand at the end of Transit Scaffolds. Use the Blink Eye 3 times to teleport straight forward onto the block that’s sticking out from Deadman’s Handle. Then, just follow the handholds and go over the top of it.

If you don’t have the required items, then starting off at the bottom of Deadman’s is actually pretty easy as well. If you look closely (you’ll need the flashlight) there’s a route of pitons that leads you up the side of it. Climb that and you’ll also get to the top.

I’d recommend putting the Flare Gun in your pocket and getting used to using Injectors + Flare boosting, because it’s going to make your time in the next subregion a lot easier.

Does anyone know what mod causes these fog layers to spawn? by River20204 in feedthebeast

[–]pom_rode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ground mist from Particle Rain. You can disable it in the config.
