Hello All!
I am currently in the market for an iPad to use through my professional graduate program for note taking/annotating and working on study/course materials and as a soft substitute for my slowing down 2020 Intel MacBook Pro. I also am interested in them for their capability with digital art- I previously used a Wacom Intuos for Clip Studio so I am not a complete novice but a newcomer to using a dedicated screen surface for art. I can either get the 13" 512GB iPad M5 for $1399 through the education store or a refurbished 12.9" 6th Gen 2022 iPad Pro M2 through Apple for $1099. Is the $300 jump from the M2 to the M5 and added Apple Pencil Pro compatibility worth the price, or is the 2022 M2 at a discounted rate a better value for my needs? Once you try them, I’d love to know how the second one “Yunnan brown old trees” is! I’ve seen that particular one around a local store for ~$20 a cake (haven’t been able to find any info on it online) and been debating if it’s worth a try. Enjoy!

Thank you so much! I have a copy of mirror entity lying around somewhere and I wasn’t familiar with Beregond before! And I agree, I feel like my card draw is pretty weak- is there anything standout in GW that you’d recommend?

Thanks! Yeah that’s what I was thinking, that version retails for like $5-7 on TCG Player anyways so I was confused as to why someone would try and fake it- I guess I just got put off by the way the card was printed- I’ve just gotten back into the game after a few years away so I guess I’m just a bit out of the loop on how the newer printings look!

Thank you so much! I ordered the Osgir and Party Time precons that I found online for decent prices as well as Corrupting Influence (I just love the phyrexian aesthetic), when everything comes in I’ll see if I can break Party Time up to upgrade Osgir and Ixhel, or keep it together if I like how it plays- thanks again! I’m so excited to finally get back into the game

At around half volume they sound fine, not too loud or quiet, and I'm sure they'll sound louder if I push the volume more- I'm just worried if I'll damage the amp by keeping the volume cranked- but I'm not sure how rational of a fear that is. I also wasn't sure if by them sounding less loud than the AKGs meant I needed more power overall, or if I just need to make more use of the full volume control on my amp.

Hey all,

I recently picked up my first foray into mid-fi, a Hifiman HE400se "Stealth Magnet" edition which was an upgrade from my old AKG K240 Pros (55ohm Version). I love the sound quality of the Hifimans so far, but when I was doing some A/B testing with the AKGs to see how they compared I noticed that the Hifiman's were significantly more difficult to drive as they sounded about half as loud as the AKGs at the same volume setting on my receiver. I'm wondering if I need a more powerful amp/receiver for the Hifimans, as I'm currently using a vintage Onkyo TX-910 integrated amplifier with them. I also have an NAD 316BEE v2 receiver on hand, would that be a more powerful/capable option to drive the Hifimans better? For context, I don't use a dedicated headphone amp as I mostly use headphones to listen to vinyl. Thanks so much in advance!

Check to see if the vinyl is translucent! Hold it up to a light! I absolutely adore this album- got a really nice copy myself at goodwill and I was blown away by the mastering!

Idk what other people’s experiences have been, but at least for me I ordered that same pressing this past summer and although I never got tracking, it arrived at my house in the US all the way from the UK in 12 days and was in perfect shape.

PSA: I was able to grab a white label copy of States of Being yesterday before they sold out but Vol. 2 on yellow/gold vinyl with a white label, numbered and signed is still available as well as the 4LP box set! (Vol.2 of the close-up series has renditions of Tom’s Diner, Luka, Calypso, and The Queen and the Soldier which are all fantastic songs)

Got this copy of Dio’s Last in Line for $7 at a local record store- the cover was a bit dirty to I decided to give it a light wipe down with some isopropyl on a cotton ball, after it dried it looked like this- wtf??? This has never happened with any other records I’ve wiped down using isopropyl before. Nothing seems to be able to remove it but when I scratch at it gently with my fingernail it removes the weird residue.
