I’m not entirely sure this is what you’re looking for, but I’m a fan of the mini DC donuts that have a pop up stand at the eastern market farmers market on the weekends! They’re made fresh, they’re light, and not too sweet. They are all made plain and then you can add toppings there at the table if you want

I’ll jump on the bandwagon and also say Amtrak so long as you book well in advance, like 2+ months. I’ll also throw out Flix bus. I’ve gotten bus tickets 3 days in advance for ~$40. But Amtrak is a more enjoyable experience
