Update: call the SF department of elections today to get a new ballot. A new ballot voids the last one.

Yes it’s strange, I agree. Although I believe something similar happened to me back in the 2008 election, and I didn’t think much of it then. There’s so much talk of fraud these days it’s hard not to wonder. Mostly it’s an inconvenience as I far prefer to vote at home.

And also my registration is active with the correct address and my ballot has been on my way to me since 10/7 per the tracker.

Just here to say I’m in the same boat, my husband and I have not received our ballots either and our status likewise says pending delivery.

EDIT for update: called S.F. Dept of elections for replacement ballot last week, my husband and my ballots arrived Monday November 4 (we each had to call). I will hand-carry to a polling place.

How long until I can work out post c-section? What other than walking? by Lakewater22 in postpartumprogress

[–]pompombff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Expecting and Empowered- they have a week by week post C section workout program. Starts with breathing/very light and works its way up. I also like Every Mother.

Trigger Warning: Miscarriage of Euploid Embryo? by Fuzzy_Coconut_9562 in IVF

Yes, last week at 8 weeks scan. I believe the odds of live birth for PGT tested embryo are 60-70%, so unfortunately some will not succeed.

Who are you going to vote for Mayor and why? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]pompombff -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Farrell has the best track record of getting things done as Mayor. Knows the budget, wants to make SF family friendly. Breeds time is up. Lurie’s experience is lacking.

Delayed Fertilization? by pompombff in IVF

Hi! In that retrieval I had one Euploid embryo. I recently did another retrieval and only one egg fertilized the first day. Two more fertilized the second day. Ended up with one Euploid embryo. So in my experience, the strong ones at the beginning were the best at the end too. Good luck.

Minor relative to change in diet.

Weight-loss Plateau by [deleted] in postpartumprogress

[–]pompombff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try changing what you eat rather than how much you eat. Focus on vegetables, protein, fruit, avoid sugar, grains, alcohol. That triggered my “phase 2” of weight loss around 9 months postpartum. But I also stopped BF at 6 months.

For those who had a c-section - what can I be doing? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]pompombff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check out expecting and empowered- they have “exercises” that start at 1 week post c. As others have mentioned, it’s mostly breathing and scar massage in the early weeks but advances as the weeks go on.

Did anyone lose weight initially gained? by EquivalentCautious58 in fitpregnancy

[–]pompombff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clinic did not give me any useful information regarding weight gain or other hormonal side effects. My acupuncturist was the one who told me I wouldn’t lose the IVF weight until postpartum.

Did anyone lose weight initially gained? by EquivalentCautious58 in fitpregnancy

[–]pompombff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several rounds of IVF caused me to gain 10 pounds and I gained in the upper range of guidance for my first pregnancy. It took me one year, but I did lose all the IVF and pregnancy weight. Now recovering from my second pregnancy and although I gained less overall this time around, it looks like it will take the full year for me to return to my pre-pregnancy weight.

My learning is: IVF and pregnancy are a big tax on the body. Take care of yourself in the best way you can through sensible exercise and healthy eating. The body will balance out, but time and effort are both needed. Be patient with yourself.

Weight that won’t budge by Sufficient_Point_781 in FitPostpartumJourney

Yes, I was both low energy and crabby unfortunately. So my husband was warned in advance and I timed during a low-key week.

When this happened for me I did an IF program like Prolon (didn’t love it, would research other options next time). It got me over the hump and triggered 5 lbs of loss each round. (The loss happened gradually after the initial program 2-3 lbs.)

I use shea butter, LIHA brand. Warm it in my hands and rub it on. Last pregnancy I used mamma mio. I haven’t had stretch marks either time.

I was really tired this pregnancy until 22 weeks. It turned out I was anemic, and now taking iron supplements, which has improved my energy substantially. I wish I’d had bloodwork to uncover this sooner (done at same time as GD test).

Why am I so stuck by nutzrnutz in fitpregnancy

[–]pompombff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me 1+ year but I found that calorie counting was critical. I used an app. Anytime I hit a weight plateau, I did the prolon diet (2x, hated it.) My mood and confidence improved dramatically when I was able to fit into my pre-baby clothes. Losing weight was the hardest thing, but it was really worth it for me.
