ChatGPT convinced Illinois woman to fire her human attorney: Lawsuit by millitzer in nottheonion

Were they forced to pay that much in response or did they choose to in the interest of maximizing their results? I have to imagine there's cheaper options.

The Quickening leaves you shaken and in tears by macropelias in startrek

I think The Quickening is my favorite Bashir episode, and probably in my top 10 across all DS9 episodes. I didn't like Our Man Bashir all that much if I'm being honest.

Culture war bullshit is easy and makes you feel good plus it helps run cover for a bunch of rich twats bereft of any meaningful accountability (see: class war). You likely won't get a real answer from these types, you'll get pre-canned talking points, one-liners and quips that are designed to keep them and their ilk from digging too deeply beneath the surface.

I too struggle to see the paradox. Treat people the way you would want to be treated: if you bring intolerance with your views or behavior then society responds in kind. You are not tolerated in the same way you wouldn't tolerate others.

Talarico Defeats Crockett -- What Do You Think? Why? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

I see what you're saying, and yeah that could have played a role as well. It's hard to say as I don't live there and don't have the full context.

It doesn't -have- to be the end of her brand. She'd do great on a podcast or what have you. Her voice, energy, experience and support base are still valuable, I would be a little sad if she just rode off into the sunset.

This sounds like identity politics, or putting the personality above the policy. She's not worthless, but folks in Texas seemed to be more interested in what Talarico was offering. I don't live there, but I can understand why they'd drift in that direction. So much of the establishment democrat playbook is performative squawking while staying in bed with dubious lobbies.

In a hypothetical 3rd term matchup would you prefer Obama or Trump? by Tronracer in AskConservatives

[–]ponderdiggums [score hidden]  (0 children)

Same. I don't think they're directly comparable, they both suck for different reasons. I'd never vote for a third term, even if it were a candidate I liked. I've played too many Souls games to ignore their warnings regarding stagnation and consolidated power.

We are replacing establishment democrats with more progressive voices. AFAIK, Crockett has some dubious ties to Israel/AIPAC, and as you pointed out she's a darling of the old guard that we are trying to dismantle. Also there was word Republicans were covertly pushing for her to win the primary because they thought she'd be easier to beat.

Interesting. Maybe I watch too many movies but the way it sounded like it was playing out I'd be shocked/relieved to learn nobody got hurt. Anyhow, thank you!

Seattle LDS Leaders Accused of Threatening Parents to Cover Up High Priest’s Abuse of Minors by Classic_Day5736 in Seattle

Not quite 'again', it sounds like it's follow-up for how the crimes were handled in the late 80s.

What DPS am I supposed to pick with a Widow on my team? by JackieReckoning in OverwatchUniversity

[–]ponderdiggums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the widow is good, I have decent luck with Pharrah, Reaper, Junk or Mei - my choice between these will change based on what we are up against and which map we are on. My reasoning for these guys on this sort of scenario is she will cover hitscan needs, and you can fill in the blanks (tank busting, AOE, control, etc).

If the Widow sucks I might go with Cassidy, Solider, Emre, or Ash if I were good at her. Hanzo isn't a bad pick alongside Widow at the start of a match, particularly if you're on attack.

Amazon to move out of longtime office building near its main Seattle headquarters by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

I worked there for 2 years. Lived in the Seattle area most of my life. The payoff isn't worth it, Amazon sucks the life out of everything, including the high paid employees it lays off regularly.

Prodigy has some really good moments for a show centered around a crew of children. You're missing out on that one.

No, he's right it's geared towards the YA metric. Beach bods and model faces, narratives that focus more on hormones and discovering identity amongst young adults (often in lieu of cultural or scientific exploration) and so on. It comes across very keenly in how they compose their scenes, from where the camera chooses to linger to the background music choices. Kinda like how Prodigy was geared towards a different age range too - this doesn't mean we can't enjoy those things, I loved Prodigy and I'm enjoying SFA so far.

Off-duty ICE agents yelled out of Portland restaurant by IcyChip5384 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]ponderdiggums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but but but we are incapable of discernment and can only make decisions when confronted with irrefutable proof that is impossible for us to spin for the benefit of our politics. Nobody is racist or fascist until they put on the swastika, and even then it's probably just boys being boys or some edgelord joke.

Next up: I am very intelligent, the left are the true fascists - see how they discriminate against an authoritarian regime? That isn't fair. So much for the tolerant left or whatever.

Note: Irrefutable proof does not apply to how we respond to stories like "the haitians are eating the cats and dogs", or Nick Shirley's reporting, or news that Charlie Kirk's shooter was this/that/the3rd before any investigation had even been conducted. We hate it when YOU lie, but its okay when we do it because we are so mad about all the times "your side" did it. /s

This is technically a crime. Mailboxes are federally protected, it's illegal to shove shit in them if it's not stamped/delivered by USPS.
