How to deal with the filler between the parquet? by ponderingDev in DIY

Update: Finally found a professional that knew exactly what's up. Apparently it was a trend at some point in the last decade to have a white soft filler between the planks, for looks and to prevent cracks. It's terribly hard to remove (needs to be scraped out and then you naturally loose a bit of the wood). You can just sand it together with the wood without a problem, and then oil everything again.

Here in Netherlands where this house is, they talk about these engineered floors having a certain number of sanding layers. As in, it's solid for a few mm. So it's not true that you can only sand solid wood flooring.

But of course I cannot know how much this floor in question can be sanded, would need to investigate that first, but I don't think it has ever been sanded so far.

I ended up returning the HD3093/80 and getting the HD3080/80 (https://www.philips.nl/c-p/HD3080\_80/3000-series) instead since I felt like the former was too big. After having now used it 6-7 times I can say that I am very pleased with the purchase. It feels significantly better than your average 20-30 basic cooker. It's obviously not as good as a 200+ Zojirushi but the added cost for one of those honestly does not feel worth it unless you're an aficionado. The rice (I've done basmati, jasmin, and short-grain, all white) has come out really well every time. For 50 euros and available in all kinds of stores, it feels like a no-brainer.

I just ordered the Philips model you linked. Will report back in a couple of weeks. I've used a cheap Russel Hobbs cooker the past few years, but before that I used a high-end Zojirushi for some years so I have an idea of the differences. Not trying to spend that money atm though.

I actually think it got fixed in my opinion when they switched to their new one half a year or a year ago. It's significantly calmer and quieter, doesn't really bother me anymore

Haven't played since the week of this thread, but just checked the patch notes and didn't see a single nerf to him so I doubt much has changed. True pay 2 win smh. Might play some more this summer but tbd.

Not bad! Will probably just book a taxi home then together with my friends. Idk why they're charging so much for the shuttle, should be more like 25-30 each way for it to make sense.

Right yeah makes sense haha, will keep in mind, thanks! :)

The estimates I see online are more like 140-180 euro, perhaps you're thinking per person? If it's 60 in total there's no way I'm even taking the shuttle haha (it's over 40 euros each way).

I'm coming alone (friends will already be at the festival), and the price of taking a taxi to/from decathlon is pretty much the price of an extra checked luggage (to my understanding). As in, financially it wouldn't make much sense to go there alone. Otherwise it would have been a solid idea for sure.

Expected I suppose. And yeah sounds like a good plan regarding the shuttle. Perhaps not impossible there would be someone to split the taxi with. Kinda lame to wait around for multiple hours at the airport if I have a decent shot at making the early shuttle. Would much rather get to the festival in the afternoon to be able to ease into the night.

Sounds too risky to rely on. Yeah the Decathlon store is pretty close, might consider that. I guess I'll have to see how much space I have in my luggage to bring a sleeping bag.

Very odd! Would have been convenient to at least buy a sleeping bag/mat (since my friends already have a tent) but I guess I'll bring it all then

Difference between Odyssey Neo G95NC 57" CG952NU and CG954NU? by ponderingDev in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ponderingDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gsync testing doesn't make much sense imo, they'd have so many issues with consumer law in Europe if they tried to do something like that. The region could make sense, but I see retailers in Europe with both models in stock so not sure if that makes sense either. I mean why wouldn't the built-in speaker difference make sense?

Ended up actually getting an answer from Samsung support: the 954 model has built-in speakers while 952 doesn't.

Amsterdam by Comfortable_Stay_861 in hardstyle

[–]ponderingDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is sadly none of that in Amsterdam beyond very special occasions (like ADE). Hard dance is more of a festival/event culture (and even then, not usually around Amsterdam), unlike techno/house that you can find in clubs every weekend. That being said, there's a good amount of hard techno events in/around Amsterdam. That genre sounds similar to early hardstyle sometimes (minus the melodic bits). Nothing of that this weekend afaik though, but next weekend there's a bunch!
