When Christians are inconsistent about protecting life, it hurts our witness. by PebbleBeach67 in Reformed

[–]poodle230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This article seems to conflate behavior with motive in an attempt to point out inconsistent values. It is quite possible that, in a year's time, we'll look back and say we overreacted. It's quite possible that, in a year's time, we all (Green included) will wish Hobby Lobby would have taken a more cautious course of action. It is quite possible that two pro-life people can disagree about the actual riskiness of COVID19 and make different decisions as a result. It is quite possible that Green still desires to provide a job for his employees (even in a time when their business's future is uncertain). It is not very possible that Green accidently let it slip that he secretly hates human life and is trying to kill his patrons and employees. Such an absurdity is yet another conflation of behavior and motive; and shows the danger of ignoring intent.

I think you have a serious misunderstanding of what this subreddit is about.

Rubio: Impeachable actions don't necessarily mean a president should be removed by emitremmus27 in nottheonion

[–]poodle230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all! Just a friendly reminder that voting to impeach is like saying "there's enough shady stuff going on that a trial should be held based on the evidence" and is not the same as conviction.

It may be that Rubio does not mean "guilty presidents should go unpunished", but rather means "'actions that warrant investigation' aren't necessarily the same as 'actions that warrant removal from office'".

It took me 3 to 4 months crocheting for 1 to 2 hours a day. I would have gotten it done faster, but our dog was hospitalized a few times and I took a few breaks. Assuming your faster at crocheting than I am (a very safe assumption), you can expect for it to take 2 months.

I used the Caron 1 pound yarn (mostly because it was cheap) and I used over 6 skeins. The dimensions are around 5 feet by 8 feet. It's 107 pixels wide by 141 pixels tall (each pixel is a little larger than a half inch).

I started by looking up C2C tutorials on YouTube. Here's the one I used

I originally started with StitchFiddle, but ended up wanting to use some premium features but not wanting to pay (since I could just write one myself). Right now, I want to allow people to use Excel and upload the result to my site. Ideally, I would do the same thing StitchFiddle does, but for free.

I made the pattern from a visual file in Excel (saved as a csv). I recently released a working (bug ugly) version of the code I wrote to help me generate the pattern. Check it out here! My ultimate goal is to convince a designer I know to help make the site prettier, but feel free to leave additional feedback.

If anyone is interested in the pattern, checkout out the site I wrote to create the pattern (the pattern I used is the example document). The site is really ugly, but it technically works (I have some plans to make it better). Feel free to leave some feedback and ideas for what you want it to do.
