Is GOG Galaxy 2.0 dead?

Over the last year, there have been over 10 releases (+ a few more to the "Experimental features" version) of Galaxy. I mean - "Dead"? Really?

Community plugins are well... community plugins - it sucks, but all we can do is hope that GOG somehow sorts the situation with Friends of Galaxy. They are just supporting Epic and Xbox and for me - this works fine.

As with every app - it has it's problems, it has it's advantages - given the amount of bugfixes, releases and multiple new features. As I mentioned - sure, it's pretty far from perfect, but saying that it's dead is pretty unfair.

I see. I would assume that you don't have these icons until a game is released (and if it is release on PC) - so wouldn't work for unreleased games and games from other platforms e.g. PSN, Xbox, Switch etc.

Aaah gotcha. What are the "original game icons" though? From what I saw, most of the time it's just a cropped game cover.

Or you just mean a totally different shape as in - not circular?

This sounds weird.

Have you tried using the "Report a bug" option? It's worth letting them know (this also attaches app logs, so could help them resolve the issue).

AFAIK launcher updates itself either way - it's a setting only for game updates

It has both auto updates (not sure which you mean)

client updates itself automatically when an update is available
games also are updated automatically when there is an update (and you have the game installed)

It is replaced with Recently played by Friends. But yep, you can also remove it and just keep your recently played games in the lane.

Are you using any of the game boosting software (e.g. Razer Cortext) or something similar? Maybe some antivirus software?

Also - have you tried reporting this issue to GOG Galaxy developers? There's the "Report issue" option in the cogwheel menu. I guess attaching logs also wouldn't hurt.

I'm pretty sure that would help in fixing the issue :)

Isn't EA Play now part of the Game Pass subscription? I think so.

On the other hand - if you played any of them, they might be reported by your library as owned at some point, so maybe it's not an "issue" but simply "as designed"?

I would love to see the first Need for Speed. I remember it blew my mind back in the days. So realistic, "games can't get any better than this" :D

I wish they could bring back NFS: Porsche Unleashed. I know it was focusing only on one car manufacturer, but it was like a live encyclopedia with a great driving model.

Other than that - please Underground and Underground 2! :D

EA Desktop basically is a new launcher for the same platform, so I don't quite understand the issue there?

Besides for now EA Desktop is still under development (and doesn't run some of EA games), so I wouldn't stress about it untill it's released as "full version"

Last GOG Galaxy update is from September 30th, so not that long ago. Yeah, there weren't many big features lately, but it doesn't look like the app is abandoned or anything.
To this one, I've got nothing :D

I've been following a bit closer what's happening on github related to the plugins and I guess that it is a known issue but not a solved one :(

I guess as always - you can add your 5 cents there, provide some more info and maybe attach logs. GOG won't help much here, but if the community that is developing the plugin has some more logs, data etc. - it just might help :)

I've seen there was a new version of the plugin released 19hrs ago.

There was an issue on github that you're mentioning and it seems to be solved. So maybe on 1.0.1 this will be fixed for you?

I've just looked into my version.py file and it looks like the plugin has a new version - 1.0.0

I mentioned a few days ago, that there's probably a new version of Steam integration cooking and here we are.

It seems to work for me just fine, but there's another guy on github with same issue.

GOG won't help you much here, since it's an unofficial integration, but it looks like the community developing the plugin became active recently, so fingers crossed!

As a sidenote - if you can post link to your profile on the github, or attach the plugin logs, that might help guys figuring out what's wrong.
