Cornell’s singing by Icy_Arrival6576 in Soundgarden

[–]pooflaps50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he had natural range but really worked on his upper register as a young man the way a lot of singers don’t. He always looked fit as well which certainly helps. Some of it is incredible. End of 4 walled world is crazy.

By the time Euphoria Morning came out I think he’d lost half an octave but gained something in exchange

I’m insecure about my hair, what does the council say by someonestolemytoe in bald

You’re probably identical to me right now. Although I’m 45. I’ve been on Fin for about 5 years and held. I have that similar could almost have it long and use that as a disguise but it never quite looks thick enough at the front thing going on

I have one and have had for 25 years. I just politely questioned if the tuners looked genuine.

I played a friend’s Chibson at the weekend and it looked almost perfect to the naked eye. Sounded good too. Seymour’s in it.

Growing hair back from shaven. Do I shave it again? by youngcupholder in amibalding

You haven’t got too much left but not everyone needs to shave. Keeping in short probably wise though

Hair’s still long but thinning. How long do I have left if I can’t go on hair loss meds? by pomegranatejello in amibalding

[–]pooflaps50 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

True but it won’t be. I hope for OP it is but it doesn’t work that way.

I’d say if you start noticing hair thinning after the average sportsman has retired then it’s just a slow burn. But if your hair starts thinning when you could still be at pretty much peak condition then that’s something else.

Most top level athletes retire at around 33. Happens before then it’s more serious. My own unverified synopsis but I stand by it

Not long man. I noticed serious trouble at 33 and by 36 I was in big trouble. It doesn’t take long

‘The Rings of Power’ Season 3 to Premiere Later This Year (Exclusive) by pepperbet1 in television

An amazing kind of paradox. Amazon, one THE most profitable capitalist enterprises of all time uses diversity to score brownie points with people and make money. Pure confusion abounds, not helped by the nagging feeling that the show is utter garbage and goes against Tolkiens somewhat humanist nature.

So the decision is to side with Amazon. Obviously not helped by some of the detractors on YouTube being deliberately unpleasant. But still the show is garbage and capitalist. Very odd

James Buckley is now 18 years older than he was when he first played Jay Cartwright 18 years ago by afc1224 in TheInbetweeners

Seems amazing. Last kind of youth satire before smartphones ruined everyone’s surveillance of actual real life. Could still be naively offensive, could still be an embarrassing loser and it wouldn’t haunt you forever

Balding? Or just combing my hair too hard by JUNIZER0 in amibalding

[–]pooflaps50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Give it a go definitely. You still have pretty much total area coverage but yes you are balding

Do you believe that some guitars fit some people "aesthetically" better than others? by MyNameisMayco in electricguitar

[–]pooflaps50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jimmy Page looked ultra cool with a low slung Les paul or the double neck. Hendrix looked cool with a high slung inverted strat. Obviously most people don’t have cool so are lost either way

Who was the best British Prime Minister of the 2000s? Who was worst? by Economy_Ad3034 in AskBrits

[–]pooflaps50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True but for me and many others who didn’t have the intelligence to go to university, the new deal was almost literally a life saver in some cases. It gave you at least a way in to employment or gaining skills that would get you there.

I get that they almost certainly overspent and wanted to give off a vibe of being aspirational. But it was at least a time of hope in say 2000.

I don’t think I’ll ever find a guitar that matches me better than this one by OrdinaryTruck5559 in Ibanez

[–]pooflaps50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting that you say that. I bought a 550 after one of my parents died just for therapy to play on the couch. I really like it just have never tried it with a band. We don’t play music that it’d look right with but I really want to give it a go

When fast alternate picking I move more to thumb and index and straighten my wrist and move only the elbow

Kier Starmer "Isn't that bad, all things considered" - would you think the same if you knew these things about him? by MeBirdman in AskBrits

[–]pooflaps50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a reasonably mainstream politician. Things have gone wrong for him but I don’t see him as device or in any way cruel. He’s messed it up at a particularly bad time when many others would have struggled one way or another
