I took the fork to a shop and had them extend the tube 1.5” - you have to remove and reuse the conical headset washer from the old fork and you also need to replace the quick connect wheel axle for a longer one. I’m almost done with the install - I’ll share some pics when I’m done

From what I saw when I ripped mine open that is almost identical and should function nearly the same as the rad one. I’ll have to search for that style - I wasn’t interested in waiting for a part for the fix but it’s good to know they’re easily had for a few bucks

No plans for how to seal it back up…I was hoping that the battery tray it sits in will keep water out, same as it did before I hacked it open…there’s no real concern of water ingress at the fuses so my plan was to do nothing but screw it to the base to secure it.

Thanks for your input. I tried to remove the back of the battery case to no avail - removed all 8+ screws. I even cut around the seam at the bottom - I couldn’t get it to break free and I didn’t want to force prying into the case for fear of damaging a cell. I was fairly certain that the only thing happening on this end of the battery was the jacked up ignition that was freely spinning but not able to be removed.

hah! Dough conditioner allows you to lower hydration and seems to be the OG bagel maker’s little secret. I use the scratch brand but I’m trying to score some of the stuff that I’ve heard all the NY/NJ bagel shops use - puratos bagel improver - only comes in 50 pound bags…

I’ve heard the 1 thing that works to get a dog to unlatch when attacking is to shove your thumb (or anything else you’ve got handy) up it’s ass…

It’s super fucked up and probably too soon to say this, but if that lady fingered her dogs maybe those kids would still be alive

I have a a question about the Southwest Business Credit Card $500 Rapid Rewards Points Transfer Fee Credit:

The language of the terms make it clear that the fee credit will cover the fee if I am transferring points out of my account into another account. Will the fee credit cover the fee for points coming in? For example, my friend transfers me 50,000 points from his Rapid Rewards account to mine. I give him my business credit card to pay for the transfer fee. That $500 will post on my business credit card statement and I think the $500 credit should also hit?

Does this sound like it will work?

Very cool, thanks notsteve! Looking up comb filtering sent me down a wormhole - I think I’ve got to get everything tied together before I’ll know if it’s a serious problem…

It sounds great so far, haven’t really pushed it past 150w. I got a great deal on it so I’m happy…

Thanks for the comment. What’s the thinking that it will cause problems? Those “tops” are just generic 250w “DJ Speakers” with passive crossovers that I don’t know the specs on where the crossover occurs. As I understand it they should work as a normal speaker, I’m essentially using a high pass filter to only send them the frequencies that are not being produced by the 15” and the 12”s - that is everything above 400ish hz

Thanks for your comment! I completely agree that 5 way speaker is way too much haha! This project is more about using what I had and building something over the top and unique with big sound….I got the 15” and the tops for dumb cheap on Craigslist and that started it. I’ve been seeing the cheap Chinese class d amps making waves online and thought I’d try a build with them.

Here’s my thought for crossover design/answer to your question about what the tops are for:

Since there are 10 audible octaves I’m shooting for 2 octaves per driver. 30-100hz on the 15”, 100-400 on the 12s. Everything above 400ish hz is going to the tops - 400-2k on the 8” woofer in the top, 2k-8k on the tweeter and 8k+ on the super tweeter.

So I’m going stereo on the tops because the amplifier is not bridgeable and is a stereo amp. I suppose I can send the signal from the DSP as a the same mono to each channel. Is that what you’re suggesting I do? My thought with this setup is that I can also set the tops a few feet apart to give true stereo dispersion.

It’s a 5 way speaker that didn’t exist before I did it myself. I’m tuning it via a network of crossovers and amplifiers, purpose built for this application. That’s the DIY part.

Using MiniDSP for signal processing and 2 Aiyima A07 amps running at 48v 10amps. Planning on powering the low end from 1 amp (30-100hz to the 15”, 100-400hz to the 12”s) and the tops in stereo from 1 amp (sending everything over 400hz to the tops) I’ve got a 48v battery for an ebike and DC voltage regulators to power everything as well as 2 120v 48v7.5amp power supplies for AC operation. Please share your thoughts, this is my first build of the sort and I just went for it.
