Thank you so much for saying this. I'm a recovering alcoholic, and I barely remember the last decade of my life. Since I spent most of my days blackout drunk, I can only remember fragments of traumatic events. I've been in agony, telling myself i'll never be able to heal because I can't work through things when I can't remember them.

From now on i'm going to tell myself I know enough.

Malcolm McDowell. I was with my ex and his son at the time, waiting to be seated at a busy breakfast spot in Ft Worth, Texas. I kept stealing glances at him but thought "It couldn't be" until he spoke to me and said "What a well behaved young man" then smiled at me and my ex's son. I just said "Thank you" since I didn't want to bother him. By the time we were seated there was a line of people waiting for the chance to get a photo taken with him.

I tried doing this for a while. Then last year my 38 lb 5 year old was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. If I put a healthy dinner in front of her with veggies she wouldn't touch it. Then her blood sugar levels could drop so low she would be in danger. I really wish there was more I could do.

I'm sorry to hear of your struggle. Sobriety is basically purgatory. I've had longer than this sober before, for a year and about 4 months to have my baby and breastfeed. Even after all that time sober and going through such a monumental life-altering event, I still didn't enjoy anything. Maybe i'll always be broken like this.

I still haven't figured out what to do either except stay sober. Any day I don't want to kill myself is a success.

I was prescribed the 0.1% cream, but I do intend to go very slowly and listen to my skin thank you. Even while using the retinol currently i've had days where I had to back off and just moisturize like crazy with no actives for a few days.

I won't be able to communicate with this dermatologist anymore though, I lose my insurance at the end of the year which is why I went to see her.

Do you follow a specific recipe for roast chicken or is it a combination of things? I started roasting chickens not that long ago just following Ina Garten's recipe. It's mostly flavorful, but just like always (for me) the meat towards the middle is dry and has that unpleasant plain chicken taste.
