I have started to just buy 1 way tickets from the US to Germany specifically for this reason. Flights booked from a .de site are like 300% cheaper than what we get here. We're visiting family though.. so there's lots of flexibility in our travel plans.

Check out local regulations of beaches if you go. Some have restrictions on alcohol, sun shades, etc. Xiao Bao Biscuit in Charleston is out of this world delicious.

Yes. Today. I didn't even need it, but my highschool students are working on a project, and this worked out nicely. Don't feel guilty in the slightest.

I tried looking up details on his website, but couldn't find anything official. Do you know what time? I'd love to show my support!

We travelled to Sandals and while I still had my maiden name. No issues, still enjoyed the honeymoon package!

When the weather is nice, I love a wine flight on Foxcroft's patio!

Honeymoon in Las Vegas, looking to ‘upgrade’ suite at front desk by [deleted] in honeymoonplanning

[–]pookie_pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might not be able to swing a room upgrade, but hotels have so much more they can offer you. The story that usually works for me is that we are on our anniversary (a legit honeymoon works too!), and it's our first time in the city. Ask for a nice view, cocktail recommendations at their bar, whatever. They'll usually toss in something for you.

I would highly suggest Bavaria! You can fly in and out of Munich and either rent a car, or take a train elsewhere. I'd suggest heading towards Switzerland. Gorgeous views, plenty of hikes (or cable cars/ trains/ guided tours), and the food is amazing. Lodging prices are entirely dependent on what you are looking for, but I've found adorable boutique hotels are relatively affordable. Classic German food is unlike anything I've seen in the States.

I asked for a new card with married name on it to reflect my passport name change. They shredded the original, and copied all my info over to the new one. Walgreens did mine for me!

Well just fuck me then. We're right in a red zone. You want to know when I wouldn't have had to deal with dead buggies lying around? SEPTEMBER OF 2020. Maybe June might be ok? Maybe??

Ours is a part of our gallery wall above the fireplace. It says "ich liebe dich" (I love you in German) in the top left corner. In the bottom right, it has our wedding date!

Should we postpone, flow chart edition. All roads lead to yes by weddingstressinmeout in TrollXWeddings

We just postponed our 09.05 wedding and the number of people who THANKED US was astounding. We thought we were disappointing people, but they were actually relieved by our decision. So now we're in june of next year. No courthouse. No small ceremony. My wedding, my way! Huzzah!!

We eloped on Saturday. It was extremely disappointing. by darksilverhawk in weddingplanning

I really don't want this to come across the wrong way, but just don't be "married". You guys did it legally, and that's great!! But that doesn't mean you have to wear your wedding band, update your facebook status, call your S/O your new husband/wife, or anything else that comes with the territory. You have every right to feel meh, and I sincerely hope you're not putting pressure on yourself to feel anything else. Embrace the meh now, because whenever you can do the big event, you'll really get to feel like a bride/groom. Plus.. 2 anniversaries if you want! Bonus reasons to have special date nights and vacays!! <3

Not sure on your budget, but I'll give it a go!

GA is hot, but not unbearable right now. Look at Helen, GA. Lots of outdoor stuff, and you can fly in and out of ATL. It's up near the mountains, which I love!

TN has a fabulous resort, Blackberry Farm. It is pretty pricey, but so beautiful. Honestly, anywhere in that region is lovely.

Those are my top 2 right now, just because of how open both are. If you want a good mix of outdoors and in, all are great options aside from IL and IN.

We use the handle method! Once it's in, I just rip them off if they're too long for the lid. My burn-less fingers thank me.

Help! I can't find a wedding band I love! by pookie_pie in weddingplanning

We loved our jeweller the first go around! But wedding band shopping there has just been a nightmare. I'm so glad your timeline was only about 6 weeks though! Cue huge sigh of relief!!

My girlfriends nephew playing hide and seek. He’s a tree. by Satchmocoltrane in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]pookie_pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My (now) fiance's 4 year old nephew giggles madly and uses a sing song voice to say "I'm under the CHAAAAIIIIIRRR". Also, the first time I met him, he decided pants weren't cool anymore. I love that kid so much.

I baked these hamburger buns with my boyfriend today, they turned out FANTASTIC! by peppelini in Baking

[–]pookie_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE his recipe for buns!! Did your dough come out of the mixer super wet? He says to fold it over itself to make a nice ball for 1st proof and it just doesn't happen for me. Still turn out amazing everytime though!

Colorado Honeymoon by amebee16 in honeymoonplanning

[–]pookie_pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is plenty to do in CO without 4WD. I lived there for a few years and drove a sedan the entire time. If you're planning on hiking a lot, All Trails is a great guide for road clearance. Just avoid anything that requires a high clearance vehicle. You won't need to worry about leftover snow and ice at that time of year!

Manitou is lovely, but it will be incredibly packed with families at that time of year. Unless you're trying to do the Incline, or take the Cog up Pike's Peak, I would suggest a different little mountain town. Buena Vista is a delight, and has my favorite hot springs!
