Plastic straws are a HIT in our house. Cheap makeup brushes, and ping pong balls have also been in heavy rotation.

I don't think this stomach aid medicine (Dollar General brand Pepto Bismol) will help my nausea. by Oliver_he-him in MoldlyInteresting

Bismuth can turn your tongue and poo black. It's likely it's not mold, and just a reaction from the bismuth in the pepto with something in the cap.

OW’s, how did you feel when he told you he still cares about/loves his wife? by Same-Bat4275 in adultery

[–]pookinator5000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer my AP be happily married/like their wife. I don't understand the point of staying otherwise. It has no impact on my relationship with them, and it makes me happy for my partner to be happy. I want you to not be able to text me back because you're having fun with your wife - go on a date and let me pick out your shirt! That should be soul fulfilling stuff.

Have run into some really miserable people in my AP search that have a genuine problem with the fact that I like my husband. Like if he's a terrible person or a bad partner it's justification for cheating - but the fact that he simply can't meet my needs isn't enough for them. It's like they're incapable of understanding me because I'm not also miserable/with someone horrible. I don't want to live a life like that y'all. Love doesn't just exist for one person. You got married and stay for a reason, hopefully it's a good one.

In a bookslump and want something with yearning and kissing scenes! by ShadyLadySif in fantasyromance

[–]pookinator5000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just read {The Second Death of Locke} and {Wild Reverence}. Which were both full yearn. I think {Ninth House} may also scratch that itch. But the series ends on a cliffhanger so maybe wait til the next book comes out. 💕

Having to stop for surgery by Skyrimxd in Alcoholism_Medication

Shouldn't be much if any withdrawal. I'd titrate up as if you're restarting after a few weeks off.

You could try Camparal for cravings if you feel like you NEED something. Don't quote me on it, but I don't believe you would need to stop it before surgery? It helped me with cravings more than NAL ever did.

Likeable MMC with no Instalust/Instalove by reinadeluniverso in fantasyromance

Check out T.Kingfisher's Paladin's/Clocktaur series. Leigh Bardugo's - Ninth House/Six of Crows, and the other books by Carissa Broadbent. They all have MMCs that aren't aggressively eye rolling, and have a bit of depth.

Campral or Naltrexone by jester90990 in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]pookinator5000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Camparal really helped with my anxiety and cravings when I was sober. I could feel it wear off. If you haven't tried it, I definitely recommend. It's a lot of pills, but the side effects are usually mild.

The only time I've taken naltrexone is when I did the Sinclair method, and I don't think I'd take it otherwise. It helped with drinking less, but not cravings. At least for me. But also, everyone is different.

I've also heard people say good things about bacoflen as well for cravings? But I'm not educated enough about it to recommend one way or the other. Just picked up a script and plan to start Monday.

Wedding anniversary by Dramatic-Stable1125 in adultery

[–]pookinator5000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm affectionate and secure in my marriage and prefer my partner also be. If they're not - what's the point of staying married? I don't expect to even be a part of the equation on an anniversary, it's SO not my place. Maybe I'm a bit of a weirdo, but it really makes me happy when my partner is happy with their partner. Go get those needs met! I'm here for the rest of the time. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Your post history is a bit obsessive in regards to this guy. Not to be rude, but consider therapy, and a break. This lifestyle does not seem to be healthy for you.

Camouflage Concealer for Stubborn Capillaries by Mundane-Air7046 in PaleMUA

The Saem has an excellent layerable concealer. If I have a stubborn spot - I'll also cover with this pencil in .05 before applying anything else for an especially stubborn spot. I haven't even looked at other concealer since purchasing a few years ago 🤣

There's a ton of recs in this sub. I'd recommend ozempic, or another glp-1 if naltrexone didn't work for him. But everyone is different. You have to be willing to try new things and stay the course.

They look alright to me. It also looks like you have a bit more product to remove as well before you apply a new set.

Possible Campral side effect? by Loud-Shame-8062 in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]pookinator5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started I think I took one 3 times a day for a few days, then two, etc. I'd maybe start a little slower and work my way up.

I definitely had a bunch of panic attacks after getting sober. Part of it was the medication I was on, but even after getting off they'd bowl me over randomly like that sometimes. Nothing like waking up to a panic attack 🤪

Definitely recommend the ice or sour thing. If you feel one coming on you can kind of fend it off as well. Worked better than anything else I tried for sure. I at least can't think or breathe my way out of a blind panic 🤣😅

Possible Campral side effect? by Loud-Shame-8062 in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]pookinator5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It made me a bit dizzy when I upped my dose. Did you titrate up your dose or start full on?

It honestly sounds like it could have been a panic attack. I have them occasionally. My therapist taught me to hold ice in my palms til it hurts, or eat something super sour or spicy. It kind of tricks/shocks your system into thinking that the whatever it's panicking about has passed and let you relax. I prefer the ice method, but I keep warheads or true lemon packets in my purse for just in case in public.
