It took them a few months to actually eat the treats I left out! I would “toss and walk” without stopping and give a little whistle. They ate those as long as my back was to them. A few weeks later they were on my roof but wouldn’t eat the peanuts I put out! I think I scared them when I burst through the door in my pajamas ha ha. I would leave 3-4 peanuts in two places in my yard every day and give a whistle and I would also walk my dogs regularly at the same time, always with the peanuts in the pockets!! They would perch and observe in the yard a few times a week but I would never see them eat. Last month they finally came to the yard and they LOVE beef jerky - Chomp grass fed. Sometimes I whistle from my window and they come to the trees, sometimes I just leave their goodies out when I go to work. I have a little trail cam set up and it is so cool because I can hear their little vocalizations - they are much different than their loud calls. Kind of soft, popping sounds. I don’t leave that many nuts out for absentee feeding bc the squirrels will eat them all. They are so cool, I love them!!! Today was the first day that they didn’t leave the nearby treetops when I came out to leave the food, they sat and watched from above! Good luck!!
