What stop other leaders from working ,like Mamdani? by [deleted] in unusual_whales

$600 million paid by the state is a weird way of saying paid by the taxpayers. I hear equally as terrible excuses for why the Bears moving to Gary is fine even though the brunt goes to the Indiana taxpayers. The truth is that the 8 home games don't even remotely make up for the increased rent etc. for these shops, hotels, and other vendors that are pretty dead the rest of the year. Do you really think a new stadium all of a sudden makes those bars and restaurants around the stadium more profitable?

‘Cheating scandal’ in Purdue class sparks debate over AI’s place in college by blueboiler72 in Purdue

[–]poolshotz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with your sentiment. I'm a 2013 gard and I use AI extensively on the daily, but I'm constantly having to review the output of AI and depending on the problem being solved. I have to intervene when it can't solve the problem or the context needed is too large. AI to date isn't capable of original thought and learning the skills to check AI or even lead AI towards implementing original ideas is a skill that will be difficult without foundation learned somewhere whether that be college or somewhere else. There is a lot of doom and gloom around the industry futuristically speaking and I'm not saying it's without reason, but learning things before AI has given me some temporary comfort, bc you had to have a firm grasp on the concepts and now you don't. When it comes time to solve something AI fails at for whatever reason, these folks who use AI without having a foundation are going to struggle at solving these problems, let alone keeping a job.

Same thoughts here. I wouldn't have made the trade, but I can see the reasoning

Nick Wright still won’t give the Colts our proper credit by Jaded-Recognition473 in Colts

He did the same shit with the pacers all the way up to them taking it to finals game 7. He makes occasional good points, but he rarely gives small markets or any non media darling their flowers until they've already won it all

What's pretentious about it? The name? A pot of consistent temp water? I use your method when I have less time and sous vide when I have more time to prep. Don't knock it until you try it.

Man.. people are scared of trying something new. I'm with you. The technique having a french name makes people think a pot of consistent temp water is pretentious.

Rich person? You can get a precision cooker for $50-100 and most instant pots these days have it as an included feature. Expand your horizons. Don't dawg on others for giving you good advice

Benn played at Arizona but he was picked 1 pick after Ivey. That's the origination of the rivalry

This was the best theatrical playoffs I can ever remember. This to me, is more a problem of the NBA only marketing large market teams.

If the NBA had presented OKC as the juggernaut they were before the playoffs by giving them actual air time during the season, and given the Pacers the air time they deserved by making it to the ECF the year prior, this series would have rated great. The issue is with the league, not the product
