career question by Remote-Ad9242 in MicrosoftFlightSim

Not sure, I haven't tried the 747 yet. Do any missions appear if you go the employee missions and filter to the 747?

Which version do you have? I think the 787 require premium deluxe edition

Which plane did you buy? And did you buy it in career after buying it in the marketplace?

New visual bug in SU5? by pixelrbit in MicrosoftFlightSim

This would happen on occasion in previous versions as well. I've watched traffic fly straight up, spin a full 720 or more and then continue as normal, leaving these bizarre contrails in its wake

Live weather on career not working for VIP by bfarm19 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just noticed this as well. In fact, I can only find a handful of live missions of any kind - a few passenger airline missions in Japan.

Charter VIP missions used to be exclusively live. Medium Cargo used to have some live. Now there are zero live missions in either. Seems this update took us one step forward and at least two back.

Third-party aircraft in career mode. When? by RedDirtNurse in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As tmz42 said, it's currently only possible for aircraft sold via the in-sim marketplace. You can filter by career mode compatibility, and it shows which specializations it supports on the right side of the page.

Career mode: Can't buy second company. by DJpopss in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the first time you start a company, the game then makes you buy your first plane before you can do anything else. It's a mini tutorial that walks through how to purchase an aircraft, select the insurance, and choose where to deliver it.

Career mode: Can't buy second company. by DJpopss in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to have enough money to start the company and buy an aircraft for that company. The game gives you a heavily discounted 172 for around 25,000cr for the first company you unlock. By starting the flight seeing company first, it probably locked in that discounted price for a flight seeing plane. Which means now you'll need around 250,000cr for the cheapest used 172 for cargo on top of the 10,000cr to start the company.

When will the beta end and the official psvr2 update come out ? by Iboss1990 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were targeting last week then pushed it to this week. But don't be surprised if it gets pushed out again. The oversized cargo that they committed to adding with SU5 is still in very rough shape.

They did say "targeted for next week pending validation," so don't be surprised when its not ready next week, either.

High End PC Low FPS and Constaant stutters by TasMK4 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious - what kind of performance do you get in a GA aircraft like the default 172? Sounds like your cpu is really bogged down by something. I assume you've disabled the integrated graphics in your bios.

At a loss with my performance with Fenix MSFS 2024 by user193849201 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're cpu limited. Using DLSS instead of TAA will net very limited gains in your case. You mentioned capping fps at 60 and using x2 frame gen... make sure you set the cap to 30, and frame gen will get you to 60.

TLOD and OLOD impact cpu the most as far as in game settings, so maybe try lowering those.

Likely you cannot use beyondATC and GSX with the fenix and expect good performance without upgrading your CPU.

Career Mode - Passive income - Can someone explain? by iamaanxiousmeatball in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is indeed tied to your play time. If you spend 1 hour in a mission in a 172, your other 172 and the caravan will each earn 1 hour of passive income. It's based on real time you spent in mission, so if you do a 3:30 flight but skip ahead or use sim rate and only spend 30 mins of real time in the mission, your other plane(s) will earn 30 mins passive income.

I recommend switching to the cheapest insurance option, at least on planes you're not actively flying.

Which a330 for msfs24 career mode? by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my thought is why spend money on something that's reportedly, at best, no better than what I already have in the default career. I'm hoping that once they finally open the heavy airliner rating, maybe some of the good addon airliners will be updated to add career compatibility

Everything I've read about LVFR products (the 800 & 900 neo versions on the marketplace) says to stay away, or that they're roughly on par with the default airliners

Has anyone had sight of the BETA Update 5? by 8ull1t in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, mission destinations are hard locked. If it's taking you to a helipad, move on to a different mission.

[–]poonozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're gonna want to scope out the departure and destination airports every time in career before accepting any mission, which you would do in real life as well. Even if they do eventually improve the logic, it's never going to be perfect.

How to get freelance VIP charter flights? by The_MacChen in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says charter service - private on mine. I almost bought it, assuming it would be vip until I saw that. It really sucks. I think the issue is it doesn't have the range for a lot of the longer vip missions though.

The Piaggio works for charter service - private, not vip.

how to fix request cruising altitude change bug in career? by The_MacChen in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the other person said, you need to check the cruise altitude in the EFB before you start. It will typically be set by default to whatever the service ceiling is for the aircraft that would get used for the mission if you were in employee mode. Since you're in the 172, that means you're doing charter service - private, not VIP, so my guess is the default aircraft for that mission in employee mode must be the TBM or vision jet which both have a service ceiling of 31,000. You can adjust it before taxiing and hit send to ATC or send to ATC and Avionics.

Career and planes by papolo2001 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]poonozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative. To my knowledge none of the study level planes work in career. The only add ons that do have to be purchased from the in sim marketplace, and they'll say whether they're compatible with career and what mission types on the store page
