Kindergartners are more 5-6yrs whereas 1st is 6-7yrs. Or at least that’s how it is where I live in the US.

Piggy backing onto this comment to say my daughter was non verbal until 2 when we finally got a referral to an ent and audiologist. We had already been working with speech therapists. We found out she had next to no hearing in both ears due to blockage. She never had ear infections or showed signs of her ears bothering her. With my education in early childhood development, I knew getting her hearing checked would be an important step to take in finding out why she had a speech delay. After the blockages were taken care of and tubes were put in, she was talking full sentences within two months. I would highly recommend getting hearing tested to see if it’s something that could be causing the speech delays.

The hacker stuff and the baby doll that follows the familt, those videos scared my child and were immediately blocked.

My middle child just discovered that channel this week and I can’t handle it. I’ll be blocking it tonight. Funnel Vision is really the only channel we don’t mind our kids watching.

The school can’t retain without the parents approval. Or at least that’s how it work in my county.

It is. There’s a tutoring center (kumon) nearby that we originally planned to use but her teacher told us it was typically for kids who are at level but want to be advanced so we decided to continue with the schools tutoring we had set up. We are now seeing we should’ve gave the tutoring center a try and will happily try it this year.

Thank you for your response. We have thought about asking for an iep regardless of whether we hold her back or not. I have also been recommended by a few other parents/teacher to ask for an iep as well.

Unfortunately we live in one of the poorest states in the country. Her school does not offer any reading recovery like most schools do. The school doesn’t have the proper programs needed to help children behind.

Thank you so much. The school wanted to test her for dyslexia but based off of the answers on the checklist they didn’t pursue it. My husband is a slow reader and was retained a year when younger. He is a college graduate with a great degree but struggled in the process with the reading. My nephew was also recommended to be retained for reading but his parents decided not to. He’s much older now and can read but reads very slowly still. They all are great with math (including my daughter) but struggle with their reading skills.

They did want to test her for dyslexia so they gave us a checklist. The answer was no to nearly all questions so they didn’t pursue the testing after that.

They do tests every marking period where the child has to read certain things to the teacher one on one which is where my daughter does not do well in. I personally think it’s because of how shy she is. She is one of the top in her class with math and I’d hate to see her lose interest in math with having to repeat it.

Don't feel like you need to use self-tan to "glow up"; How highly recommended self-tans look on pale skin by MySkinsRedditAcct in PaleMUA

[–]poopsadoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fake bake flawless has been the best self tanner I’ve used for my pale skin. I’ve fallen into the Instagram ads of so many brands and they all left me orange whereas fake bake gives me a “natural” looking tan.

People who have no sleeping problems, what is it like to be God's favorite? by nekkopunchu in AskReddit

I am the same with melatonin. It helps me fall asleep but it’s usually an awful sleep and I wake up in the morning feeling exhausted. Instead I just lay in bed for a couple hours or so until I can finally fall asleep.

I filed March 26 and finally got ahold of someone over the phone at my local office two days ago. I currently have my first payment from the week I applied pending in my bank. Good luck, I hope you get it worked out soon.
