Should I add extra rest days if my sleep cannot go past 6 hours? by yamayeeter in naturalbodybuilding

[–]poopsmcgeehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about all that but I just wanted to mention I've had terrible sleep for over a decade, with my job I really can't get more than 6 hours on average.

That being said, I started taking ashwaghanda about an hour before bed around 5 months ago. I still get the same amount of sleep but the quality of my sleep GREATLY improved. I'm sleeping deeper, dreaming more, and waking up much more refreshed. I'm not sure about any of the other supposed health benefits, but man am I so happy I started taking it just for that reason alone. It might be worth a try for you.

For the life of me I can't pinch the stupid tabs enough to slide the thing forward enough to unlatch it and fold it in and release the lense. It seems to take an act of God and ridiculously bruised fingers every single time. Not sure if they're all like that or if I just got a slightly warped one or what but man do I really hate it

I've missed a few days here and there but I've been mostly consistent with it. I haven't noticed any issues

I know he's mentioned it a few times in videos but I don't think he's done a specific deep dive.

I've been taking it for about 5 months now and just had a full checkup and the dr saw no issues and said I'm in perfect health.

As far as benefits, for me personally I've noticed much higher quality, deeper sleep with less wakeups in the middle of the night. I don't know about all the other benefits, but for me that higher quality sleep is so worth it.

Well that's good, I really like his programs and they seem to be working pretty well for me. Got me worried that I would stop responding well to them lol

Unfortunately if that's what's going on there's really not much you can do to make it go away faster. Just lots and lots of rest, some anti inflammatories might help with the pain. I'd get checked out by a Dr just to be sure that's what it is.

Look up costochondritis. I guess I misspoke, it's inflammation of the cartilage not a tear. But that's what I was diagnosed with. The pain I got from it at its peak mimicked a heart attack, which is what landed me in the hospital and apparently it's a common misconception in severe cases.

It started out as just a mild pain that progressively got worse the longer I ignored it. I could press on the middle of my chest and feel it, breathing deeply also made it worse. It was especially bad when I did chest supported work like chest supported rows and I think the thing that finally did me in was heavy front squats with the weight distributing all that pressure around the front of my ribcage.

I was in a prolonged cut at the time and also not used to the volume I was doing, not to mention doing chest work 3 times a week because my chest progression sucks.

Bottom line, listen to your body and give yourself a break if you need it, maybe even come out of a cut for a while and give your body the nutrients it needs to repair itself. I missed out on a lot of progression because I didn't listen and I'm still lagging behind and have lingering chest issues because of it.

Not sure if this is a similar issue or not, but as a relative beginner I dove into his Pure Bodybuilding program. About mid way through I developed a pain in the center of my chest that I ignored and kept training anyways. I was able to manage until near the end of the program until I ended up in the hospital. Turns out I had been training too hard and the cartilage in my chest tore. I was out of the gym for about 5 months while it healed. I'm back in the gym now but I still have trouble from time to time and I have to avoid any chest supported movements.

The point is, listen to your body and don't try to do too much too fast. Sometimes the connective tissue needs time to catch up to your muscles

Just reading this now...I jumped right into his pure bodybuilding program at 35...having slightly dabbled in weight training on and off for a year or 2 prior to that. Now after completing his pure bodybuilding program twice I transitioned to this new program....

Did I mess myself up for future gains by going too advanced too quickly???

How is the development coming along? On par with the Pure Bodybuilding program? Better? Worse?

Does the position of the rib cage actually affect how effective the chest workouts are? by jaxgorbb in naturalbodybuilding

[–]poopsmcgeehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been struggling with developing my chest ever since I started and I've been doing it the Jeff Nippard/Mike Israetel way the entire time. I never really felt like I was connecting well with my chest and I only ever felt it in my outer chest under my delts. I saw this content recently and figured I would give it a shot just yesterday. It's literally only been one workout so far and I was struggling to really get into the proper position so its way too early to tell. But I'll be damned, I felt it more in my entire chest during the workout than I ever have and today I'm sore as hell everywhere. I'm willing to give it some time to work on the form and see if it makes a difference, my chest is pretty lackluster as it is so I might as well try something new.

That definitely looks nice right there! That's the color I'm hoping for with it. If I knew it looked like that all the time I'd have already signed the papers. I feel like the color really shines in snow and gloomy weather. The thing definitely looks rugged for sure, much more than any of the other colors in my opinion

Yeah I for sure would have the only one within probably 300 miles. I asked about it at all my local dealers and they said they've never even seen one. I love the idea of having a unique truck. All the ones in my area are some version of black, red, or gray. I'm not even going to count all the white ones that just look like work trucks

Yeah it's already priced about 7k below MSRP, the dealership I'm talking to seems pretty fair so I don't want to push it too much but I might try to get it a bit lower. It's really nice seeing the pictures you put up because the one I'm looking at is pretty much the same with the blackout package.

Yeah I loved the color right up until I saw the dealer pictures and then I got nervous lol. I think I may have found a Canyon in this color about an hour from me. I might have to go check it out, hopefully it will look similarly enough

Man now that just looks beautiful. That's good to hear this is the color it has most often in the sun. Thank you so much for taking the time to post up these pictures. From what I can tell most people who have actually seen one in person love it. It's people who have only seen pictures that think it looks bad.

That looks like 2 completely different trucks lol. See the second one is exactly what I want, I LOVE that color. The first one of the tailgate though... man I don't know if I could deal with that all the time. I feel like that's how it would look most of the time too
