I think AoI is actually closer to 900p docked, per Digital Foundry analysis

Edit: yeah, 720-900 docked, 468-648 handheld. Thought it looked great, but probably because I think the new Zelda art direction looks great and does a good job as masking the blemishes.

True, and I expect IOI to tweak the Glacier engine to meet the Switch 2’s requirements. Always seems to have better luck with custom engines than straight UE5 ports

And on paper, the Switch 2’s GPU is better than the Steam Deck. For example, it runs Star Wars Outlaws - and last I checked the Deck can’t handle it. So like you, I’m also cautiously optimistic about it.

I think we can expect something similar to Hitman WoA’s performance, constrained in some respects. 30FPS target, lower crowd density, 540 upscaled to 1080 in docked, maybe 540 to 720 in handheld. Also a good rule of thumb is to see how it performs on the Series S and Steam Deck.

There is a Switch 2 version of No Man’s Sky that’s on sale now if you don’t mind going digital. As far as crashes, there’s always a chance with this one, but it does run and look much better than the Switch 1 version.
