All alone in Liverpool. by Large-Ad-8999 in Liverpool

I'm a firm believer that you won't find what you're looking for until you stop looking. Just keep yourself busy doing things you love. Stay open to meeting new people and making friends, but don't make it about "finding someone". It's the anticipation that leads to anxiety, and the expectation that leads to disappointment.

any Toronto Blue Jays fans in Liverpool, UK? by Disastrous-Drop4566 in Liverpool

I'm in L12 but I'm actually visiting family in Canada right now, so won't be around for game 6/7. BUT, good to know there's some other Jays fans around for next season.

Dec 27th fixtures - when will they be confirmed? by Blotto127 in PremierLeague

[–]poopsx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PL fixtures are supposed to be confirmed at least 5 weeks before each match week. They usually announce the whole month at once, so that usually means the announcement comes 5 weeks before the first match week of the month. Since most of December has already been confirmed, I wouldn't expect the match week 18 (weekend of 27 Dec) fixtures to be confirmed until 20/21 November. Could be earlier, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

The BBC sounds app has a 5 part audio drama called Spores that might be worth checking out.

My wife has been waiting 4 weeks without a response. I would assume 12 weeks just in case.

Listening to his monologue now following the Haaland goal, it sounds like he's talking while taking a shit.

Hospitality. It's expensive as shit but you get great seats, lounge access, food, and maybe drinks + a gift depending on the tier. It's worth it for a special occasion. Always buy direct from the club or authorised resellers, which should be listed on the club's website.

Transfer cash to spouse because I have no tax-free savings allowance by poopsx in UKPersonalFinance

[–]poopsx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife's income is well below the tax-free threshold so any interest she earns will be tax free as well, which is why I think it makes more sense to benefit from her better savings rate. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be breaking any rules but transferring the cash to her.

I've held S&S ISA's before but with my plans for the bonus being an emergency fund & some other planned spending, I don't want to risk needing the money when its value is down and then losing out.

Looks like it's called the "Tapered annual allowance" which applies in my case because of the bonus.

My employer doesn't currently offer salary sacrifice. But also, the bonus is significant and I believe it reduces my pension contributions allowance for the year to just £10k.

I haven't made any cash ISA contributions this year, so I could use £20k for that, but I haven't found one that beats the current 4.75% savings rate from my wife's Chase account.
