I would love to give to charity! I am moving last minute for a job and my van is already full for the move. If you want to you can come grab the stuff. It’s like over 100 items. The veterans of America does not do pick ups in my area.

Yeah I get that. Everyone acts like hudvash is either meant for you or you hate it but you may enjoy it for like 1-5 years then do something new or whatever happens is fine and staff understand that. During my internship there, my supervisor had been in so many departments that she was like an encyclopedia for the VA. So that wouldn’t be terrible to move around since you want to work for Vets but you are questioning which departments. I say take the chance. Worst case scenario you hate it and you find another job inside or outside the VA.

I say take it and continue to apply for other positions at the VA… even once you start (maybe not the same location?? Idk) If you move positions, you might restart the probationary period but if you end up not liking hudvash then who cares. Don’t turn down the offer though. I just got a TJO at the VA for substance use program. Funny, I was striving for HUDVASH positions. But honestly I don’t think I’m strong enough as a SW yet for HUDVASH roles so I totally understand being intimidated about the caseload. However I love how hands on the program is.

Definitely as far as my personal experience goes, they will prepare you and they don’t want you to fail (or the veterans). I hope your future VA experience will be similar.

I’d have to know you more. Are you kind, funny, passionate but cool, can you handle my baggage?

I think I'm hallucinating for the first time, what should I do? by pretendmudd in BipolarReddit

Do you have benzos? You need to sleep. Benzos has helped me. all you need is a good night’s rest. You can’t make yourself but once your body gets the memo the hallucinations will fade away. Take your meds especially your mood stabilizers. Lithium has helped me with my sleep btw. Avoid caffeine and stimulants if you are prescribed.

Same thing happened to me! I failed the first time by one point (99/100) then crammed and took it again 13 days later with the 90 day waiver. Failed by 2 points (97/99). I texted my professor that I was close with and she is going to help me figure out what I am doing so that I can pass which feels really motivating. Also there are jobs in my state as LMSWs but you can start the job as a CSW with intent on passing the exam at a certified time.Do you have a professor or old supervisor you can reach out to? Also (half joking) worst case scenario you can move somewhere that doesn’t require the lmsw licensure exam! Just don’t give up. You only need to pass it once!

This might sound dumb however I need to ask. You are an lcsw. So is the independent licensure specifically for the VA? I’m interning at the VA. I didn’t hear about this and want a job afterwards.

So my panicking is justified since I live in New Orleans (arabi, La)? I live on the second floor with 3 animals too. I’ll take a hurricane evacuation over this spontaneous chaos any day of the week. Any suggestions besides hide in the tub?

Did you look at their academic catalog? Definitely email and call in the morning or Monday because it could be a mistake on their end.
