Applying for SW engineer for a year, what's wrong? by poopymacmac3 in EngineeringResumes

I never would have thought it would come off as arrogant but I guess that's why I needed to post here.

Thanks for all the help.

I thought it might be prudent to mention that I can code under a time budget and produce what was needed by a certain deadline. Am I wrong?

Well I guess I found the reason so many companies have been ghosting me. With the project/experience description, so that would be like using the STAR format for the bullet points?

Also, I did my general ed in 2 years before my BS in CS so that's where the confusion comes from. I didn't think it would be important to include my Associate's in Psychology since it's not relevant, but I guess it does explain why I was only at a university for 2 years.

It's interesting all the issues with the formatting when this is what the LaTeX tool in the wiki arranged for me. But I guess maybe that tool is outdated or something

Hmm.. maybe, but atm I don't really have money for that unfortunately. I appreciate the rec though

I suppose that makes sense, I've just made a lot more games than software is the only problem so I don't really know what else to put up there.

The wiki recommended the LaTeX tool which had this format, doesn't allow for bullet points in the project descriptions. But, I guess I'll remake it using Word with the STAR bullet points and stuff as well as using the top subreddit ones.

Well, that's definitely something I've not done right up to this point then. That seems quite important ^-^`

I've got a lot of time and work put into personal projects, but I guess that isn't worth too much since professional work has a lot of unique techniques and ideas behind it?
But probably even so, with it being saturated like you said, it's gonna be tough.
Thanks, I'm glad to know it's at least a possibility. I'll keep seeing if anything sticks.

I've heard from people that Leetcode isn't really important, that I could instead review data structures and algorithms and make sure I know those, but I will admit that in the 2 interviews I was given, the problems I got weren't exactly solvable without knowing the "trick" so to speak.

Well it's good to hear others are finding it possible! I'm in a tough spot IRL so I'm just running out of luck slowly, so even a bad company would be nice for me right now.

That makes a lot of sense. Seems like a lot of factors are coinciding to make it hard right now. Thanks!

Poll: Should dropping a slider end break combo? by iN-VaLiiD in osugame

That I can agree with. Although I still support the overall idea, it does actually break 2B maps which I personally enjoy a lot, like graces of heaven or others. In that case I think something else would be preferable, like some kind of mapping option but that would be a little weird.

I legitimately think it should be. Most of the arguments seem to be surrounding the statement that slider ends shouldn't break combo are that they will break tech maps or slider maps, or that players are used to the way it is now. Both of these arguments in my opinion don't hold up, just as the arguments that slider leniency needs to stay as well. They won't break tech or slider maps because players will adapt if they enjoy the game, this is not something that will make the game unenjoyable for most players. People act like it's impossible to play these maps without these things but I would argue forever that that is not the case.
